Sleeping Dogs is probably going to be my favourite game this year. It’s hard to imagine why Activision wanted to scrap this game as it really excels well as a sandbox game and has refined how we see the genre altogether.

The story is amazing and can hold its own compared to Mafia 2 / GTA4. The combat is great, as well as movement; it’s very responsive compared to GTA4. Car’s are slightly arcade-ish to handle - but considering you can hijack cars and do slow motion shoot-outs it works out pretty well.

Overall Sleeping Dogs is a love letter to Hong Kong cinema; I’ve been mesmerized by its tiny immaculate detail which gives this game so much charisma and charm. Truly one the great gems of this generation.

On a last note, the PC version is just amazing, advance PC options and day 1 HD textures really show that United Front is committed to the PC. Listening to Ninja Tune radio while driving a motorbike down a wet and rainy neon lit sky is just pure bliss.

So I realized Rayman Origins is on sale again and you would be a huge fool for skipping this game. This is the very definition of a perfect co-op game, I’ve played this with nearly every age-group imaginable and have yet to met an individual who did not appreciate the game. This game really does put other Indie 2D platformers to shame and shows that Ubisoft can actually make a good Rayman game that isn’t ‘2’ ported to ‘x’ system.

The game really is something else, everything from the super smooth gameplay (I’m talking super meat boy / Mario fluid controls here) to the super detailed animation of the levels just leaves you in pure ecstatic joy, the same type of joy when you first experienced split screen on N64 x100.

In summary: DO YOU LIKE FUN? -->THEN BUY THIS GAME.

The original F.E.A.R. was a great game combining elements of horror, fast paced action and great combat sequences into one nice little game. In F.E.A.R. you are part of a special squad to take down a rogue psychic soldier who has control over a whole army or replica soldiers. To aid you in this struggle is your ability to slow down time to take on several enemies on the go.

The game mechanic works really well, since your usually swarmed by clever AI, the way the slow mo is used is quite marvellous and it feels like you’re in one of John Woo’s movies.

Granted you only got the most out of the game if you played on the highest difficulty settings which really put you at level footing with the AI. Even today the gameplay holds well and weapon choice is ample as well as being creative.

I recommend getting the game since it also comes with the expansion packs as well, Overall a great classic pc game if you just want a quick paced fps.

Portal 2 improved on Portal in so many ways that it should be goty already, it managed to live past the hype and our expectations. It quadrupled the game length compared to the first game with an extra co-op mode which really does need teamwork and lateral thinking.

The singleplayer is also a masterpiece, bringing in all the gels and new puzzles with the portal gun into one unified gaming experience, which didn’t feel too cumbersome but still required our brain cells to work out what to do.

It would be terrible to finish this recommendation without mentioning Wheatley:just amazing voice acting by Stephen Merchant and brought the humour to portal 2 to the next level.

Buy it now! If you don’t you might as well be in SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!!!!!!!!!

A game which puts you in a fast paced zombie apocalypse, where teamwork is essential and mindless actions often result in tragic consequences. This game is a timeless classic and probably the best example of how a co-op shooter should work.

As a team you are really dependent on your team to progress forward – this is extremely true in Versus mode in which botched planning or a disorganized team can result in death.

But when it all does go all wrong it’s a hell of a laugh and in the end that’s what this game is, it’s you trying to survive a zombie apocalypse with your somewhat incompetent friends helping you. Definitely worth playing and should be on any person’s steam list
