During our battle on Elsenborn Ridge, our tank was struck by enemy fire. Trapped and under heavy assault, Private Zabarai made a split-second decision to exit the tank armed only with his pistol.

Despite overwhelming odds, he engaged the enemy with fearless precision, neutralizing multiple threats and clearing a path for our survival. His actions allowed us to regroup, return fire, and push back the enemy. Without his heroic intervention, I would not be here today.

Private Zabarai embodies true heroism, placing his comrades above himself with unparalleled courage. His selfless sacrifice deserves the highest recognition.
