If you like Pillars of Eternity RPGs, this is must. For action RPG players, i'd recommend this. To casual gamer, with some caveats. In general, this is more like Fallout 4 or Starfield with more fluid movement than this is souls like or something requiring nimble hands.

Story and Pillars of Eternity lore are the greatest strengths of this game. The choices you make actually matter in different phases of game and world reacts to them. There is massive amount of lore about Pillars of Eternity spread around in the game referring to events and world in previous RPG games.

Combat is fun, though melee is very bland, so i'd avoid melee character. Ranged + Wizard was the most enjoyable style.

This is open world game split to 5 different open world areas and it has its strengths and weaknesses. The strength comes from rewarding exploration. Going through places almost always yields benefits be it resources or items. The weakness is that the open world did not receive as much love as the size of it would require. At latter part of the game the areas seem repetitive with reskinned mobs that are higher level.

The RPG portion is simple but working, you get levels, you spend ability points and you increase your stats. Equipment can be upgraded as well as legendary equipment also enchanted. Items gotten in early game can be relevant even at the very end of the game. I personally used same pistol pretty much through the game, it was found in the first area of the game.

So Pillars of Eternity fans, buy it immediately at full price, it's worth it. Action RPG gamers should buy this at full price too if not playing something else right now. For the casual gamers, i'd buy this from sale.

Game crashed in loading screens about 10 times during 23h of gameplay. So not yet bug free. Didn't hit any game stopping bugs though. Put autosave to 1 or 2 mins and you won't be that much bothered by this.

I don't really recommend this DLC.

There is very little content, the main quest, while OK, feels very rushed on the latter part.

Overall, the DLC is massive missed opportunity. Biggest thing is simply lack of content, there is very little to do outside of the main quest. There would be treasure trove of content possibilities with House of Va'ruun, but they are not used at all. There are few 100% irrelevant side quests that have little to do with House Va'ruun.

This DLC is blatant money grab. It seems more like part of what was left out of the main game as one faction quest line than real DLC.

Too bad, there was huge potential storywise here.

Early Access Review
Not recommended, this isn't even proper early access, it's like alpha version, even controls don't work properly.

If you like Harry Potter world, this game is a must. It has good controls and gameplay is really fun. A bit more difficult to recommend to people who don't care much about Harry Potter franchise. It's solid game but pretty big portion of it relies to the world building done in the books/movies.

While pretty similar to planetfall, the fantasy setting works very well. AoW4 is what AoW3 should've been. If you liked AoW3 but hated the tier 4 spam, this works for you. The top tier is now 5, but it's limited by resource needed for improving the empire.

The city building feels relevant now, as you have options to repurpose different tiles for speciality uses, but you still need different tile types to be able to build certain city improvements. Like in planetfall, tiles with special locations & resources get extra bonuses.

While i like Planetfall and it's very similar as this one, AoW4 feels better game to me, perhaps it is just the fantasy setting.

This game is made for the Steam Deck. I bought Steam Deck to enjoy gaming when i'm traveling and thought games like Spider-Man would be good for it.

Spider-Man is excellent game on its own, whatever the device you play with it. It looks great, the movement and fighting is just so dynamic and smooth. Story missions are good and the side missions are mostly fine as well. Only gripe i have is challenges in DLC with Screwball, they simply get tedious and repetitive, otherwise, no issues.

I recommend this game to anyone who has any interest in superhero action games. The gameplay in general is very similar to Batman: Arkham series of games, if you liked that, you like this one as well. Spidy is just much more agile and has web shooters compared to Batman.

The game copies Baldur's gate gameplay 1:1. The problem is that on every level, outside of perhaps graphics when evaluated as Baldur's gate copy, it's just mediocre. Story is meh, music mediocre, the core system has very little variation in characters. Fighter is fighter, you just decide what weapon you use and there are few class skills that you seldom use that you might choose differently. Biggest difference comes from what weapon you might select.

Skill and spell UI is horrible and the crafting system brings little and has features that nobody needs or cares about.

I like the idea to make homage to Baldur's gate, but the lack of production values just make this too mediocre game. Don't waste your time unless you are dying of boredom and you have played all games that are better.

This is Fallout/Wasteland game with interesting original lore. Only 3 hours in, but if you like Wasteland and Fallout, you'll like this too.

--Edit-- Having played game through

I still recommend this to FO/Wasteland fans because the world is interesting and different than many others. But after playthrough, some issues came about.

First, the game is much more finalized and packed with content on the first third of the game. In later game, big areas are really empty and vast maps have only few meaningful NPCs and a trader or two. It seems that at first there was ambition and time and perhaps money, but later on the game they just did what was necessary for the walkthrough.

The game has few really annoying fetch quests that make no sense, they just seem to drag things out unnecessarily. In many places you feel like there was idea to do more based on some lore bit or context, but they just didn't have time or money to create the vision.

To put it simply, contentwise it feels like 1/3 of the game is retail ready, 1/3 is beta or alpha and 1/3 is early access barebones.

There is fatigue system in game that makes you get fatigued doing certain things, i think it's OK system, it's just needs balancing. Some things create way too much fatigue compared to others. Like picking 10 locks means that you are ready for 12h sleep or so.

All in all, it's OK game for 20 euros and while i wouldn't recommend it to anyone playing first game like this, friends of the genre who don't mind it still has early access feeling are going to be just fine with it.
