This game brought the genre, from which I didn't see much to control beside moving around a big horde, then put a lot of things you actively need to take control of. Including, but not definitely limited to, boss fights where you need to dodge while aiming properly.

The aesthetics pleases me but I don't need to talk about them really. Thank you good reviews.

The game could be hard, but you can definitely try to get better at it without sweating too much. It's much more kind than those arcade games. Even the condition for the true ending seems actually somewhat forgiving than what it's known as I think. There's a space to try again or even a reason to keep going. And it makes me happy.

For paint jobs made of mostly bold straight lines, they don't go along with most of lines on the surface of the trucks.
They may still look cool nonetheless, but I wish it was a bit different.
Still, this pack means a lot of new cool paint jobs for ones that's free of this concern: the trailers.

I was not having fun. Control configuration is a mess, difficulty is questionable, interface is a mess, and my computer was dying handling this game.

Configuration

The game needs a serious work on making input configuration usable.

I had no problem setting up the button configuration for my gamepad in other games where numerous people say the interface is not so beginner-friendly, which I generally agree. But this game showed me what a hell of an interface actually look like.

Whenever I try to click a feature to assign an axis or a button, The game will always trip off and think it's GenericGamepad Axis 6. I have to navigate through a totally unnecessarily long list of all possible game controller inputs to manually click each of "Gamepad *" ones for the features. I couldn't tell if forcing the accurate ones like this would even work, because the little feedback bar showing the receiving input in real time won't work.

So I have to jump in to that tutorial level once again, to check if one feature is working as intended, if it doesn't, I exit to main menu to adjust that one feature. No, the option is not accessible unless you exit to the main menu.

While the feedback bar fails to show any of the input, the forcibly assigned buttons and axes actually worked in the game at least. But It would be much, much more comfortable if I don't need to go through all this journey.

By the way if you tried setting Offset of an axis and want to get it back to zero, you might have to reset every binding just for that depending on the resolution of the game. the pixel for the value zero didn't exist in my situation, and there's no way to manually type zero to set it to zero. Big overlook.

Difficulty

It feels like the threshold to get 3-star in a level is memorizing every single action you have to perform, then start doing all of them as soon as the level starts, as fast as possible, with zero space for any kinds of mistakes. Which is quiet a lot to ask considering how the interface is not up for such difficult tasks. I'd have tried a bit harder to properly see if it's continuing to be this too much, if not for the interface, or more importantly, if my poor GPU was not about to melt down.

Interface

The features required are lacking. I can't dump suspension air, there's no button to reset my camera direction, the side mirrors barely cover the width of a truck, and the convex mirror below is wildly set to outward so I can't even tell what's on there beside the color of the truck I am in. You know why they are important if you have played the other truck games enough.

The mirror coverage was so depressing. If this was what I got in Europe and North America, I would never have started driving video game trucks, especially never have ever tried parking because this becomes just all tedious and not fun.

Also not every player is lucky enough to have and maintain a fully immersive setup to play games like this, and that's why there are "unrealistic" options like on-screen mirrors in the other games. The closest to be able to check both mirrors quickly while not losing the sight on the front is, not having to move mouses quickly and precisely to look at where the mirrors actually are, but on-screen mirrors. Especially considering there's no button binding for aligning your camera back at the front.

Optimization

I manage to make my old and weak GPU not melt and took off the power of the whole computer by setting things as low as possible in my video card driver setup, which is depressing. Setting everything in the game low still would require a lot. And even with all my effort, the GPU started getting near water-boiling temperature when I accidentally moved my camera through a lot of trees. Lots of trees affecting the GPU in a short moment makes me doubt if the graphics load is properly managed.

I was excited to finally see trucks of a different part of the world. But if this is what I would get when the main game is released, I am afraid to say I would pass.

Overload really does feel like a modern sequel to Descent series. The level interiors, weapons, enemies, and the level design that makes you think how to maneuver your ship in all 3 axes to get the best out of situations, are all there, with just better looks.

For multiplayer, I am glad the option is there, but you know very well that nobody plays games like this except you and me.

A cool twin-stick shooter involving liquid physics.
Not so difficult, but every threat in the game is an instakill or put you in a near-death state. Each stages are made of several scenes -- a single area, bigger than the game window, and dying resets everything in the scene and respawn you back to the start.

SBA is such a great invention in this game.
Dashboard screen information is also decently packed, and having a turbo pressure gauge to the side easy to see is nice.
One small complaint I have is that a row of 4 buttons at the bottom of the side is advertised to be "programmable", but in this game only 3 buttons are used at the same time, for the same function.

The pack has a bit more variety than it has in ETS2, which is also amplified by more customizable spots coming from the trucks of this game.

Kinda disappointed that you can't color the central part of the hub covers that have spokes.
But being able to "customize deez nuts" is still a precious addition to the customization, making this pack worthwhile.

This pack satisfies my need for a paint job equivalent to Canopy from ETS2.
