Just lazy design and polishment. Nowhere near the quality of the first title. This is sad and feels like a scam.
I really wanted it to be a good sequel or whatever. Even installed it twice, after I rage deinstalled it, so to give it a second chance (within 36 hours, because I really wanted to play exactly this type of game). Movement is so disappointing (especially this snow gliding thingy). Feels clunky (maybe it is a wanted behavior) and you get stuck everytime you try to do "normal" first person movement stuff (jumping, move over stuff). And what is it with this stupid artificial pengiun mechanic!? So tedious. Uhm and yes the movement is brain melting.
Devs seem to be engrossed in the development of subnautica 2 (I think even bevore this game was finished), which is good, but this game feels unfinished. No significant encounter with a leviathan after 14 hours. Ah and combat feels like a guessing game. Anyway, I hope Subnautica 2 checks the boxes for me.

Full of Bugs. Can´t recommend it enough.
