This rocks. If you like bullet hells and risk free gambling trying out janky builds through RNG insanity, then this is your game. The hardest difficulty is truly punishing if you don't know what you're doing or don't have good RNG, but you are not punished for playing at lower difficulties. (Difficulties only increase/lower depending on how many modifiers you pick!)

Love it, waiting on to see how well the next update comes along!

Do I like this game? Yeah, personally I do. So why am I not recommending it?

As of 06/04/2024, unfortunately, in most areas it cuts short of being good, maybe when this game gets more content and lots of bug fixes and polish, then I could recommend it.

I like the idea of catching pals, making a base where I can do things and explore areas with them but there are many things that stop this from being enjoyable.

The pathfinding on the pals is not great, Pals can frequently spawn inside of terrain and get stuck behind places for no reason, plus some of their sizes require you to build larger areas just so they can go in and out of buildings, which is a problem when bases are limited in to a semi-small radius.

The map is not good and desperately needs an overhaul. Some pals straight up are too big for the map, while wider areas feel deserted and empty. They need to add more uniqueness to each part of the enviroment, there are even random holes where you can see they used the extrude tool (dragging/generating parts out of a polygon to make more polygons) with a bumpy texture to create an imitation of mountainous/bumpy areas. The map definitely needs to feel both taller and wider.

The combat is pretty basic, which is a given since this is open world but combat generally turns into a match of "who can use the big move first" while you kite/shoot the enemy.

For me those were the two big things on why I wanted to play this game, and I really wanted this to be good, but as much as I can put up with I cannot recommend this to anyone until it improves.

No single player and online with randoms is dead
Looks fun if you have friends who also have it but that's the only reason to get this game

What do I say about Gedonia?

It's an open world game where you make a dude and build him up skyrim style, but you start off with base stats that can't be changed and a ally system that makes factions like and dislike you, making many ways for this game to be replayable.
It feels like when I first started playing an old MMO and I had no idea what I was doing, but was interested in finding out what I would find, however, I'm not punished for putting skills into the wrong trees since you can reset them with a buyable potion.

If you wanna sit back and relax and look around this mad little wonderland then I'd recommend it heavily

Does it have the best graphics? Nah
Is it easy for a beginner to get into? Probably not

But you can tell that one man put his heart and soul into this project, with constant updates and skill trees/abilities that sinergize with each other, while also being open to discuss his game on his discord.
He's pretty chill and the game is always fun to go back to.
Support creators like this, they're a good egg.

Robocraft's design is basically what any robot-loving fan could ask for; Building Machines, and Fighting other machines. That is the main principle of it. The building mechanic is great and the many ways you can design robots to fight in your way is amazing.
However, there is one grave issue with this; You have to pay to truly enjoy this game.
Most of the colours that were once free are now behind a paywall, including the ability to create a full 5-man team while they claim to have made "competitive play". You can also not earn money in this game, you have to rely on the crate system, which will be the bane of your existance, as you only earn half of what is inside of said crate. You cannot choose which ones you take either, you collect the few ones at the front, while dangling a "Get all of the items if you pay premium!"
Premium, admittedly, is not as expensive as paying monthly for a Pay2Play MMO. However, that's only because there's an initial cost at the start of said P2P MMOs.
Though, even with premium, this game is very grindy. You'll have to play hours to try get those epic drops you don't need, just to sell for over 70% less of the original cost in stores, ultimately earning 100-300 per game on average while weapons in the store cost 10,000 - 130,000 on average too (if you want something worth while).
However the biggest slap in the face from FreeJam, the developer, is that any returning player only gained 3 days of premium membership before dropping it completely, while removing any sort of money they had and replacing it with a very miniscule amount. A person with about 8-10 million in GP ended up with only 80,000 and a returning player that didn't earn or have that much since leaving, came back with.. around 800-1000. That is all.

TL;DR The game is enjoyable and looks pleasing aesthetically, but it has degraded into a over-polished tin can trying to drip any money you have out of you. Hopefully this will change at full release at the end of 2016/Start of 2017.
