Original game mechanics.
The story is enjoyable and it is interesting to discover clues step by step.

I LOVE this game.
I didn't follow much of the hype train, I was just aware that a game with a gigazillion procedurally generated planets was in development.
I preordered it a week before its release date.
I'm happy to have paid the full price for it: I feel like a small shareholder supporting the company to improve this game and to develop future games.
For me, No Man's Sky is a perfect explorator/tourist game: I enjoy the WOW! moments it has to offer.
I enjoy landing on a new planet/moon;
I enjoy climbing a mountain and finding a beautiful view waiting for me at the top;
I enjoy strolling in underground caves;
I enjoy SWIMMING in underground underwater caves;
I enjoy sunsets with a pair of moons/planets hanging in the sky;
I enjoy finding weird animals/plants/stones;
I enjoy finding uncharted mysterious portals;
I enjoy taking a lot of snapshots.
I also enjoy the chill of death/near death moments:
when I'm surrounded by a pack of hostile animals/sentinel drones;
when I forgot to store enough resources to fuel my life support systems;
when I landed on a small reverse conic island, went bathing and couldn't climb back up with my jetpack.
As of today I played 210 hours on a subpar graphic card at 15/30 FPS and I still have to leave my second explored system.
Maybe I will warp soon to my third system but I want to repeat myself:
I LOVE this game.

I just want to add that 2 years later, with NEXT and the following updates, this game is getting richer than ever.
