I enjoy this game. I really like the systems and the gameplay and the music and the environmental details.

I. Hate. Lou.

I would pay money to remove her from the game. I actually hesitate to open this game because Lou is in it.

10/10 (without Lou)
3/10 because I'm not allowed to tell Lou to never speak to me again or jettison her from an airlock.

I could write a lengthy, detailed review of this game, going through all the things that I liked and disliked and strongly liked and strongly disliked, but only one thing mattered in the end.

They made me set up an orbital artillery strike on a fixed position, and then the camera locked away from the impact point so not only could I not voluntarily see it, I wasn't even allowed to see it barring a turn of my head.

Completely unacceptable. Failure on a basic level. Game ruined. Whoever's job this was needs to be fired. If I meet this person, I will slap them.

Not even joking.

Barring issues with the number of animation frames, this is surprisingly like Hotline Miami. It's a twin stick shooter where you're trying not to get murdered by a bunch of obnoxious Soviets and the most dangerous thing in the world is an angry fatty. And just to complete the similarity, nothing clears the way quite like a shotgun.

After a catastrophic attempt to play classic bioshock that ended with it being unable to run, I attempted to play Remastered. It went well. It was stable. I saved often just in case. Then I tried to get into Medical Pavilion for the first time. Now Remastered won't even run. The game is dead, and I'm pitching it out the window now. I'm not spending another 4 hour stretch trying to fix something that shouldn't be broken.

It has a lot to offer from the get-go, a legitimate, solid learning curve that won't punish you unnecessarily, and plenty more down the road. Let yourself learn, accept failure, and it's incredibly rewarding.

Absolutely pays for itself in terms of time spent. Don't get discouraged. Always look down. Learn to laugh at yourself.

That's actually a really good alternate title. Learn To Laugh At Yourself: The Game.

This game is beautiful in every way. I can't say enough about it. If you don't like difficulty and even a little bit of cheesy death? Don't buy it. But that's your loss.

It still needs a lot of work to be a proper asymmetric pvp game. The numerous side is the more powerful, and the onus for mistakes is entirely on them. It's fun if you can get past the fact that, at this state of the game as a whole, it's going to be painful to try to learn by actually playing the game. There's a lot of ways to bully new players, and established players are very familiar with them.

That said, it keeps dragging me back. I loved it since I saw the concept art, and if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to critique it. Get it. You'll definitely get your money's worth. I still haven't bought any DLC for it, and I'm perfectly happy with the amount I spent. If it's on sale, what are you waiting for?

Highly underrated with a great eye for detail. It has the same flaws as most of its kind in the single player campaign, but it makes up for that by being the topical modern warfare game that most say they want without knowing this exists. This is what we have unless Six Days in Fallujah rises from the grave, and it's not a bad deal at that.
