I have never been big on Harry Potter, only watching the movies for the first time 2 years ago. I enjoyed them for the most part and could see why people love the series so much but i didn't get hooked in. But i will say that i had a very good time playing Hogwarts Legacy. Bought it one sale after a friend recommended it and i am glad she did.

Now, the negatives first. The game is poorly optimized, i have a brand new high end pc and even though i had a very high fps even on max settings i struggled a lot with crashes and sudden fps drops. I changed settings over and over and played on a mix of high/medium settings for the most of my playthrough but i still struggled. I will say that when there were no issues it ran perfectly. There are also loads of visual/animation bugs, even in cutscenes. Clothes swayed and chopped around in ways that the laws of physics does not allow. Extreme lens flare and what felt like a flashbang from the sun especially when in and around caves. Many of the spells had either a bugged animation or some sort of visual bug, and wingardium leviosa was very unstable when lifting, shooting items across rooms and getting stuck in things. The ai of characters moved very weird at times even blocking me on rare occasions. Loot often spawned inside other items or even floors and walls making it so i couldn't pick them up, and i even had some enemies bugged inside walls. Luckily for me they always had a part sticking out so i could attack them but i can see them spawning so you would have to restart a mission. There was some other minor problems but nothing that affected playing.

Luckily the good outweighed the bad, even with all the issues i had i wanted to complete the game, and apart from the crashes non of the problems made it so i could not continue. The game is very beautiful, from the graphics to the character design. The world is large and even with duplicate villains and missions i feel like there was enough variation to enjoy the entire story. The combat system is good and i enjoyed trying different combinations for different scenarios. I thought the story itself was good and felt different from the movies. Lastly i just had a good time playing the game, from all the missions and story, all the different characters and places. I had fun finding all items and getting 100%.

I bought the game on sale but i think i would get my moneys worth even if i bought it at full price. I recommend the game if you enjoy Harry Potter or just if you like open world rpgs

Played the game when it first came out on ps3 and became my favourite game after the first playthrough. The story is amazing, the voice acting is fantastic and the art style is stunning. This being a remaster the graphics are of course beautiful. The gameplay is fun and you can approach fights in different ways so you dont just have to stand still and shoot. Even though i have consumed a lot of media about The last of us since that first playthrough i have to admit that i have actually not played it since then, so when it was on sale on steam i knew what i had to do. And luckily for me i still love it to bits.

I had some small stuttering/rendering problems while playing and some minor annoyance with the ai movement from Ellie and various others during the story. The stuttering issues might have been from some settings i had wrong, but they were never big enough for me to try and fix them. The ai issues while a bit annoying at times it never made it so i got stuck or had to restart something. During all my play time i never had any crashes or problems that made it so i had to restart missions or the game itself, so they ported it very well.

I highly recommend buying and playing The last of us, especially if its on sale. almost 12 years after release its still my favourite game of all time (story game atleast) and one of the greatest stories i have seen.

10/10
