This game, this stupid game, is an unbalanced trashpile that should have stayed on the playstation to die where it belongs. The devs demand cash from you for anything you want, and the games so horribly unbalanced having fun is basically impossible.

I regret any and all money I've put into it.

The game play is solid, the Mobile Suits feel heavy and powerful but still responsive. Power balance between the suits is hit or miss, but I'm willing to look past that on the preface of the game being out for less then a week. I never thought I'd miss Overwatch's universal melee option but here we are.

What I can't excuse is the poor matchmaking and map design. The maps look beautiful but are absolutely horrendous to play on. So many choke points that are incredibly easy to hold, if not downright impossible if the enemy team is even semi-coordinated.

Which leads me into my issues with matchmaking, it's atrocious and aggravatingly painful. I've played my fair share of hero shooters and have even been moderately decent in them. But when playing casual matches with friends who are new or very inexperienced to the genre, we were getting stomped by other teams who were leagues above our level.

Not to mention the absolute toxicity. The games' been out for only a few days and the community is already toxic as all get out. We were already feeling bad cause we were getting decimated, and then the enemy teams harass us in chat. Half our 6 stack were Streamers, and it just made a bad situation worse. This is easily on par with Overwatch's rampant toxicity, if not worse.

I participated in the Closed Beta for the game, and I quite enjoyed myself then. But with this dumpster fire of a launch, and seeing the god awful monetization practices, the illogical region locks preventing all of Latin and South America from enjoying a game tied to a franchise that dominates their culture, it frankly sucked all my desire to play this game.

Maybe in 3-6 months when all these Toxic morons leave for Overwatch 2 and the Competitive players get out of Casual queues, and the game gets a few balance patches, I'll revisit it. But in it's current state, I have no desire to return.

TL;DR -
Pros: Enjoyable gameplay that keeps you engaged, good story, Multiplayer works fine.

Cons: Prone to crashes, poor performance under duress, easy to make the game a breeze.

Generation Zero is, in many ways a looter shooter. Find gun, shoot thing, look for better gun, rinse and repeat. But unlike almost every looter shooter I've played, the enemies are dangerous at all levels. Sure some are much tougher then others, but get too cocky or tunnel vision and you can quickly find yourself in a bad situation even against the most basic of grunts. However, this works only to a degree, but I'll mention that later.

This is emphasized even further with the games amazing AI. Enemies react in realistic ways, and the game will actively begin countering your tactics the more you use them:
- Staying sneaky and picking off targets from a distance with a sniper rifle? The AI will start employing more scout and melee oriented units to hunt you down and rush you.
- Going up close and personal with a shotgun? Now you'll find yourself facing more ranged units who can pump you full of lead before you can even effectively return fire.
- Going mid range with LMG's and Assault Rifles? You'll need to handle both ranged and melee units working cohesively to keep you from holding down that trigger.

This results in you constantly being engaged and having to change your play style to counter what the AI's doing to counter you, almost like a game of chess. Also as you continue to rampage across the map, bosses will begin to appear, named enemies who are tougher then their respective normal enemies, and get even more so as they increase in level. But, the reward pool also gets better with every level, so you have to weigh the decision between better loot or an easier fight.

The story is also fantastic, keeping a healthy dose of realism despite it being a game where you fight giant robots. And the lore rabbit hole is as shallow or as deep as you want it to be, depending on if you want to collect and read the documents, further fleshing out the world and also making the main story line, especially near the end, all the more haunting. While I will not spoil anything, I cannot suggest enough that in the final mission of the main story, take your time to search for and read the lore.

The Multiplayer is a drop in, drop out system, allowing for friends to easily join and leave the game as needed. It does also allow them to bring over their entire characters and inventory, meaning that giving a friend an extra weapon you don't need or dropping them some ammo/medical is incredibly easy.

...Now, my issues with the game. I suppose I'll start with the performance of the game. Unfortunately, Gen Zero is by no means a completely polished game, and it has a unfortunate habit of showing that ugly side more often then I care to admit. The game does tend to crash if the action gets too hectic, or if you try and alt tab out of it. Thankfully the Autosave is quite good and normally means not much progress is lost, but there's only so many times your game crashes before you can loot the named foes and possibly miss out on some high level gear that you can overlook it... I may still be salty that I lost 3 named enemies to a crash this morning, but that's beside the point. The game also has a tendency to chug and even freeze occasionally when there's too many effects on screen, though admittedly this may be more at fault to my rig then the game.

My other big issue is with the difficulty curve, or well, lack there of. If your luck is good and you get decent weapons, the curve is practically destroyed. Combine that with good tactics and item/ammo management, and the game can become rather easy rather quickly. I'm well into the game, having beaten the main story as well as the two DLC stories, and have some of the highest levelled weapons, and unless there is multiple bosses, or a large number of heavy high levelled robots, I rarely have issues. Most of my deaths these days are caused by my own hand; either because I miscalculated something, or because I was an idiot.

Overall however, I have to recommend this game. Despite it's flaws, it's a quite enjoyable time either solo or with friends, but I have to recommend playing with friends much more. It's a blast to just go around and break some robots, and with a story to stick around for makes the enjoyable combat even better!

So one thing I will definitely say about Arma 3 after the countless hours I put into it, is that the game is only as fun as you let it be. You can play it super casual, competitive, PvE, PvP, what have you. All I can say is, do what you enjoy and find some friends for the ride. A game like this is infinitely better with a squad of friends to work together.

One final note, is that modding is ABSOLUTELY Mandatory for the maximum amount of fun. Wanna play WW2? Iron Front. Expand the modern setting? RHS and CUP. Wanna get more realistic and indepth in controls? ACE and ACE Medical. Wanna go to the battlefields of the 41st Millenium? Grimdark Armory and There is Only War.

This game's variety is practically infinite thanks to the amazing modding community, and means that Arma 3 no matter what can keep going strong and give people who love the military shooters something to do.

I love this game to death, but I have to make one thing particularly clear: DO NOT BINGE THIS GAME. Monster Hunter as a franchise is incredibly fun, but it's so easy to burn yourself out if you don't pace. I got this game when it came out for PC, and played it for weeks straight before quitting, taking almost a full year and the release of Iceborne for it to hook me again. So please, if you read nothing else, take your time with this game. Enjoy it in bites and don't keep going back for more, because you will burn out.

This is a game that's easy to get lost in. I've played this game for hours when it only feels like minutes, and for the most part I've loved every second of it. The game is constantly and consistently updated with a growing playerbase and a die-hard core who's more then willing to help you figure out what to do. Obviously there's the occasional jacka** as is common in every online game, but unlike many the good heavily outweighs the bad in Foxhole. I recently came back to the game from close to a year off and for the most part dropped back in without any issue and as easily as I would slip back into any singleplayer game. If you are a fan of games where everyone has to do something in order for the group to suceed, this is 100% the game for you.

Personally, I've loved every moment of this game I have played. It's story is wonderful and doesn't particularly interrupt gameplay very often, and the gunplay is far more solid. I will say however, the most fun I've had with it was with friends, teaming up in 3 man kill-teams and blasting our way through across the map, discovering secrets and hidden items was an absolute blast. I know my hours aren't as high as others, but it's one of those games where I binged for a solid week in any off time I've had.

This game, oh boy this game. There is a very good reason why I've put this game down for the Labor of Love Award, and that's because the team has put every ounce of their hearts and souls into this wonderful, wonderful title. I'd also put them up for the "Fun with Friends" award if I possibly could, but sadly that wasn't possible.

Deep Rock Galactic is, to put it simply, a fast paced survival shooter where you must complete your primary objective and escape before you all get nommed to death by a bunch of giant space bugs. With random generation in the caves and a constantly rotating amount of areas and mission types you can go to, it does what games like Left 4 Dead and Vermintide did best, but also removing the issue regarding lack of replayability.

The updates for this game come out fast and proper, unlike certain other AAA Developers who shall not be named, and every single update that this wonderful team puts out is absolute gold, from the events to the mainline updates, and they're willing to give us fun stuff to goof around with for the sake of goofing around, which brings me to one of my main points:

The developers do not take themselves or this game too seriously.

There are far too many survival shooters out on the market these days, and many of them fall into the common trap of trying to be edgy or dark for the sake of being so, meanwhile the team here just lets us wear Pumpkins on our heads while we run around blastin aliens in the face and mine our ores. It's serious, but not *too* serious.

And unlike the 2016 DOOM and a few other games I can't think of off the top of my head, this game has an upgrade and perk system that actually makes you Feel like they're making a difference. Whether that's a faster reload, more bullets in the mag, a damage up or whatever for your favorite tool, all the upgrades that you spend your hard earned cash and minerals on feels like it does something, unlike other games where perks and upgrades don't seem to make a major difference.

Now, that's not to say I haven't had my fair share of issues with the game. Sometimes the game engine is a little wonky and doesn't register things like climbing up platforms as you'd think it would, and while the game does allow you to play in singleplayer with an AI Companion, the difference between that and having a proper party is night and day, and many times you have to drastically change your playstyle and basically 2 of the 4 classes are really kinda useless in singleplayer. These are of course, not dealbreaking issues, and I'm sure will be fixed in the coming days.

TL;DR 9.5/10, Rock and Stone to the Bone, will play until the end of time.
