Its been over a year, and this game still has Denuvo anti-consumer malware implemented. There are only pros to removing that parasitic cancer from the industry for good. Make good games, and stop infecting them with a badly coded unoptimized DRM that demonstrably plummets performance and requires an internet connection. Absolutely unacceptable.

Only done a few of the trials so far, and I'm enjoying it! Has a good mix of challenge and puzzles.
I really wish they'd add custom Workshop map support though. That alone would extend this game's life tenfold, since I understand that the current number of maps is static and people have stopped playing because of it.
If you want players coming back, you need to either really increase the speed you output these maps at (and make them fully unique, not just "reskins" like the current Christmas challenge ones), or give the community the tools to do it themselves. The latter sounds like the better option. That is my one big critique with the game.

It was well worth the wait! 10/10 and my personal GOTY for sure
and for the Sony haters: It never asked me to sign in to PSN. It had the option in the main menu, but that's it, I never signed in and my experience was unaffected

Turns out, the game still isn't available to purchase in over 170 countries.

Edit May 6th 2024: The battle was hard-won but we did it. Sony backed down from their attempt at making all users sign up for a PSN account. However I say stay weary, people. Like I said 2 days ago, we don't know what else they could try to pull in the future.

Edit May 4th 2024: The requirement to link PSN accounts is a major problem for the gaming industry if we let it happen. Who knows what else Sony would try and pull after we link accounts? Not to mention how there's been the various data breaches and hacks on Sony's own servers. Multiple times.

This game's incredibly fun, I've honestly had good experiences with both rando's and friends. Shooting is satisfying and there's a nice number of weapons, the soundtrack is fantastic, and enemies don't feel unfair to fight against.
My only critiques are probably more personal nitpicks that I'd like to see changed. For starters the music needs more tracks as it's just a bit too repetitive. I won't deny that its a real banger of a soundtrack, and the composer should be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ proud, but hearing the same music over and over, yeah, needs a bit more variety there.
Speaking of variety, I feel there aren't enough enemy types at the moment. So far its only the bug aliens, and the mechanoids. Would be nice to have a couple more factions or races to fight against. I know in the first game there were only 3, and given this sequel has a much higher budget I'd love to see a much bigger number this time around.
It had an extremely rocky start though, with servers being "at capacity", and people unable to play until just recently because of it (and by recently I mean like, until 2 days ago). So the negative reviews are more than deserved on that front.
Overall though, a really fun game that I'd say is now worth $40. I've had tons of fun with it so far. Highly recommended

Noita encourages experimentation but then punishes you for experimenting. It feels like a game that was made purposefully hard for the sake of artificially extending the game's playtime. A full relaxed run lasts less than 2 hours so I think that's 100% the case.
Additionally reactions and alchemy don't seem to work half the time. Spraying water on a fire for example doesn't extinguish it and instead just creates a bit of steam. The fire just keeps spreading.

What a fantastic game, well worth the wait. Some minor hitching and stuttering here and there but apart from that my experience was butter smooth. Here's hoping another R&C is in the works already <3

So I revisited this after the 1.63 update, see if this thing's were better than it was 3 years ago.
The short answer to my question was no. Nothing's changed. Its still a very buggy game, with an unimmersive world filled with NPCs that don't feel like people, cars that still handle just as bad as they did on release, and an engine that still seems to struggle with shadows and proper lighting (shadows popping in or bugging out, especially in outdoor areas).
Now these people have the audacity to ask for money for an upcoming DLC, when the base game itself is still overflowing with problems. I highly don't recommend this game unless its on a very hefty discount.

This game definitely felt worth the wait, but for its length I really don't think the randomization cuts it. The bunker itself isn't very big, so in total you only really have the bunker itself, and 2 smaller areas. The ending also isn't at all satisfying.
You only have to deal with 2 monsters (3 if you count the rats) the entire game, one of which is only part of a very small section. I feel they could've done a lot more on that front.
The graphics and engine feel very outdated for 2023 standards, and I think its time for Frictional to give up with their custom engine and move to something like Unreal 5 for their next title.
Here's hoping the community comes out with some real good custom stories like in the days of The Dark Descent

I'll try this again in a couple months when the performance issues are hopefully resolved and Denuvo is removed.
Until then though, refunding. Sad really, I was looking forward to this one

Early Access Review
There's a solid foundation here, but it is clearly VERY far from completion. Updates are few and very far between, and of little to no substance. There hasn't been a single solid content update since I bought this back in 2022. Because of that I recommend you don't buy this until its well out of EA.
