The core game is fun, Solo and with others. Pocketwatch games has a good track record with other releases like Monaco 1 and Tooth and Tail. I wish the game had a bit more polish and QOL, but I have full faith of the team to fix issues. My biggest ones personally were...

Things like the coins tracking per floor was fine in Monaco 1 because you could see them on the map very easy due to its graphical style, but in this game its very hard to know WHERE the last few coins are. Not only due to the clutter on pickups but also the fact the levels are MASSIVE.

Other things like smashing windows makes going through levels really interesting for speedrunning but half of them but also just ends up sending you out of bounds to nothing.

I built a group of bandits, stole random things until guards started hunting me. Knowing that going back onto the roads would be a terrible idea I decided to try to survive in the forests. This slowly lead me into combat with the local boar population. However being the cunning and daring group of bandits we were we decided to wrangle these boars and use them as a makeshift boar army.

Those boars became close to our archer, so I spec'd her into a beastmaster. We would find boars in battle with other bandits, and obviously we would help the boars, and than wrangle them to continue building our boar soldiers. However, tragedy struck. in one combat a lighting bolt crit and completely fried Boartamor. A sign of things to come.

If I was not afraid of the law I would have gone back into town to sleep, but I decided that another day in the woods would not hurt. So I let my men sleep. Ambush. Local Inquisitors hearing about this group of rouges believed we were worshiping some sort of "Boar God" and intended to lay us down where we stand. We all lived, and by we I mean the original group of bandits. All of our boars ran into the fight and formed a boar wall of bodies for our foes to have to fight through. One boar even stepped in front of our beastmaster to save her from certain death. We lost 6 boars in those 24 hours, but we forever gained something that can not be forgotten.

RIP to Boartamor, Boaris, Boarnana, BoarInTheUSA, Bjoark, and TheArtOfBoar. I will never forget what you did for me.
