Core keeper is reminiscent of some of the best 2D sidescrollers and top downs. It reminds me alot of starbound and terraria, but also puts a new perspective with its mechanics. it can be fairly brutal if you are not careful with its enemies. the bosses are all pretty neat, especially the newest ocean endgame biome boss. he was so freaking hard for me and a friend we ended up trying 5 or 6 times and we had serious endgame gear. Cannot wait for more updates

Really fun, mechanically very impressive with its systems.... it has BIG fps issues, but the game is so fun I havent really thought of that as an issue mostly.

The game itself gives you so many options to choose from with weapons, and has a skill tree system that kinda just makes sense. Cannot wait to see where this game goes in the future.

Played on the steam deck so maybe that was my issue, but I installed it and it crashed my deck. I uninstalled two times before a fresh third install even worked loading the game up. On top of that, the story mode does not give any sort of clear indicators as to how to SURVIVE, and there is such harsh punishments for the slightest of falls. didn't realize I had to use the climb indication to go down 2 feet of rocks so i totally broke both my legs and slowly dehydrated to death before I even figured out how to play. nothing but frustration with the control scheme. I like to give games the benefit of the doubt in this type of genre... but the fact that the game made me even slightly angry at its mechanics right off the bat is very telling to me. maybe I just wasnt right for this one, but its a hard pass for me.

I don't really know how to describe the feeling of being enthralled in a game in the first few hours. I have not once looked at the mechanics and said "how the heck am i supposed to play?" other than maybe the cooking. This game is undeniably simplistic, easy to learn, and straightforward. it does not however lose its charm because of this and the gameplay shines in response. The characters are all fairly cut and dry, but I love how many there are and how you can keep meeting new people as you progress and upgrade your town. it keeps things fresh and exciting while also giving you a set of mechanics that are not at all dreary or tedious.

The build mode is a genuine treasure. it is easy to navigate and a godsend early on because you can simply move stuff out of the way if you dont have the tools required yet. the dating aspects for each of the characters are short and sweet but also emphasize that they had a connection to you before everything ended in your previous life. Willow is a shining example of a love interest without exactly being the main love interest if you don't want it.

The entire game reminds me of a faster paced animal crossing with stardew valley mixed in for its day to day mechanics. I give this game a solid 9/10 because I straight up cannot stop playing

This is a letter of gratitude. I have spent over 2000 hours playing this game over multiple accounts. I actually had the chance to become a server admin for one of the top ten most popular servers back about 5 years ago and I loved every minute of it. The community of the game is amazing, the game itself is a treasure. This little game has so much content and so many items that its really difficult to keep track of. But the best place this game shines is in the bosses and progression. I will never forget the day I defeated the wall of flesh for the first time all the way down in the hell biome. Still one of my favorite gaming memories to date.

There is too much to talk about in a single review. This game has evolved so much since it first came out and as a veteran player of Destiny 1 and a day one beta player of Destiny 2, I can say that it will go down as something that changed my gaming life. The amount of time on Steam doesn't take into account my time that I also played on consoles. I have played enough to nab every title in the entire game, from Dredgen all the way to Flawless. Some would call me a masochist, but I don't have many other games I am this crazy about. This game sucks you in, it gives you goals, triumphs, achievements to complete. I have made so many wonderful friends in this community over the last 6 years and I wouldn't change it for a second. Thank you for this game, thank you for making it available on Steam, and thank you for giving me an impressive experience these last few years. Here's to Beyond Light launching in November!
