Very good game, but suffers from a lot of "wait, why don't they have the gun?".

Fantastic. A new spin on an RPG, it's gone oldschool with your classic turn-based combat with firstperson and heavily stylized animations. The dialogue is often hilarious, but the game never comes off as cartoony. The characters do certainly have their own personalities and ways of speaking and I did find myself growing attached to them. I love all the relatively obscure historical references. There's a lot of stuff that just does not come up at all in other fantasy games, both in terms of who is present, the way they talk (often represented flatly but here there is more nuance). You don't get dialogue options that change things, though you do get just a few choices in terms of quests.

Also. Always buy porridge for big fights. ALWAYS. Stay [blessed].

Reminds me of my childhood. Highly recommended.

I love the fact that the game gives you many choices, and opportunities for multiple endings, and the ambiguosity. However, I can't reccomend this game because there really isn't a payoff-- my ending was the character giving a summary of what happened, asking questions, and then I get the ending that I <i>made up</i> and then the credits. Really? That's not a proper ending at all. I could have started at the very end and known as much as I did as playing through it.
