There are bugs and they aren't few. But most people complain about optimization which is actually pretty decent. I run this game on i7 10700F, RTX 3060Ti and big 34" UWQHD monitor without any issues on medium preset. If you have some, make sure you have latest drivers since this was what caused some rubber banding in my case. This game is great considering it's been out for just day and half.

Unfinished game with no future. Real value of this game right now is like $1-2, not $50. And that only if you have NASA computer to run it on.

The story was okay. Maybe a bit too short, quite plain, ended bad? I wanna know what happeend to Isaac, Kathy, Sarah, ...? All I know is that I gave Earth a chance.

Controls with their latency were rather annoying from first, but I got used to them by end. I personally don't like playing from 3rd person view and thus I didn't enjoy 60% of game as I could.

Gameplay was really repetitive and the game never showed me way in some sensible way, I always had to think like: What the game offers me? Where am I allowed to go? But this is common problem to many games.

Another big con comming along with purchasing this game is that it's either not finished or devs didn't play the game as a whole yet. It happened to me once that I had to use Google to get code to continue in story. According to what I found on Google, there was supposed to be poster with code written on it but in the exact sport I found nothing. I guess it was just not included in my game. Another time I found empty cup of coffee and when I inspected it, I saw something like: Old inspectable - replace. Not a big problem, but didn't help much with good review.

Now the final and my biggest complain. The game is extremely unrealistic from begining till final end. From small details like fact that with how probbaly rocket fueling in this game works launch would lead to giant explosion the moment the rocket igninted engines (I call this small detail becuase it's not important for story and occured only once) through bigger obscursions like how rovers totally killed most laws of physics to total nonsenses like gravity changes with pressure changes. Like c'mon, I didn't leave the Moon so why should I now move like in 1g gravity only thanks to the fact that there is now pressure? Not even mentioning that water would be terrible coolant for this kind of reactor as these magnets that prevent plasma in fission reactors from touching walls need to operate below -200°C - far below what we can achieve with liquid water, or fact that fission reactors themselves don't have any moving parts, only moving part could be steam (or any other supercritical gas) turbine, but even that wouldn't look like what I went through in final chapter. When you try to make Sci-Fi, you should aim for at least some realism, and if you really want to show us new technologies we don't have yet, at least make the ones we know work according to laws of physics. I personally really like Sci-Fi but this made me feel sad.

Overall impression? I wanted to play some nice, realistically looking space story and all I got was really cheap film. I did enjoy many parts of game but they all could be much better. Can't recommend this game, sorry.

First of all, I played Enhanced Edition on PC with following specs:

-------------------------------

RTX 3060Ti
i7 10700
32GB RAM

-------------------------------

I wasn't really sure whether I want to recommend this game or not, but compared to others, it still stands pretty high.

-------------------------------

I never gave myself any spoiler about this game and I really wanted to play the great Metro Last Light game but bigger, with more options, better graphics, longer story, more characters, .... The game offers all of that, but I'm still not satisfied.

-------------------------------

The story was nice and well done, nothing too crazy. Took me about 15-17 hours to finish (I already claimed that I played Enhanced edition which btw you get for free with this game, but that's reason why I have only 5 hours according to steam). I tried to loot all locations, but especially The Caspian Sea chapter was a bit too big and empty to force me to search for all possible loot locations, yet as I learned how devs made maps I was able to get most letters without any effort which was nice. Just look for it and you'll find it. But during these searches I found many inconviniences. In Taiga chapter for example, not a single ladder had proper length which made me always jump half the heigth when climbing down. It was also in this chapter where I got lost for the first time. The game sometimes misleads you from intended path and doesn't tell you where to go. I spent like 20 minutes running around, trying every possible way through without success and it wasn't the last time this has happened to me. But the game also offered me opposite. In Dead City chapter, there was only single possible way, that wasn't even following one direction. This way I only knew I'm going right, but I had no clue where and why. If the game told me: hey, go to church, I'd look for tower and lead the way, but this was rather annoying. Also getting good ending was pretty easy compared to previous games, according to Steam, about 8.5 times more people had good ending than the bad one.

-------------------------------

And now for the Enhanced Edition part.
It offers better graphics, I'm not really sure what offers base game (I only launched it on laptop), but the Enhanced Edition was great. Detailed NPCs, nice shadows, good looking textures, and played on ultra settings on 2k monitor was still pretty smooth (stable above 60 FPS except for few locations where it went down to about 40). The RTX was really good adition here.

-------------------------------

Overall, it simply wasn't the Metro game I expected nor I wanted. But it was pretty good game with rich story, and compared to other games, it stands pretty high. I'd give it 70% for all the unfinshed and unpolished stuff, but if you asked me if I recommend it, I'd say yes. So it has my thumb up.

So it finally happened. The DLC is out. It's time to review what it became since it's alpha release exactly year ago.

Unlike with many other games, the alpha here was truly only to release published content. And it paid off. If I look behind and wumm all changes, the DLC made quite some progress.

But let's start with cons.

- Some people say it's badly optimized. I never played it on weak CPU so I can't really tell, but yeah, people say that so better think about it before you buy this DLC.
- I'd like to say the game is harder but I don't see that as a con as you can always change some game rules and pick some easy start and suddenly it's as easy as it was.

However there are many pros why you definitely should buy this DLC

- Rocketry got that always wanted rework
- Sending rockets to distant planets or asteroids is not just click and wait but it's finally fun
- New challanges
- New items, research, critters, plants, food, materials, geysers, buomes, events
- Devs are not done yet. They said they plan to add new content in future.

Let's sum it up a bit

The game is definitely harder. By a lot, especially if you start on some of the new tiny asteroids. All achievements run aren't just rush first 100 cycles, then have rest and voiala, you got all achievements. Now you actively have to focus on goals. The amount of content added is big, for sure but the added game play is huge. The DLC is worth new game. You should definitely give it a try.
