Like doom 2016? Well this is that game plus more goodies, extras and expandable options than you can handle. I've never died so much but also never had such engaging FPS, intense, over the top combat in any FPS. If you enjoy action FPS games, get this. Now.

You like FPS games? You enjoy that "old school vibe"? Well you found a gem. This game looks great on modern systems but gives you that old school Quake/Doom feel. Run, gun and ask questions later. There are secrets to find and plenty of re-playability. My only gripe, is there is no map overlay BUT this might be the charm of the game too. Also, there is no "open/use" button, you just go close to a door to open it. This is alright by me, but also kind of a departure from the days of old when trying to find secret rooms.

Also a little addition, as you progress through the levels, there is a fair amount of platforming "puzzles" that make it also really exciting and unlike it's inspiration. Also, the level scale is great as well!

Great soundtrack helps a ton too.

In any case, the game is a blast , and an insta-buy if you enjoy run and gun old school shooters. Stop reading this and play it!

Since I started VR I was always on the lookout for some good space combat- I played EVE VALKYRIE a while back and finally picked it up myself. I was hesitant based on the player base for the multiplayer aspect and I tried other newer space shooters but nothing really scratched the itch. So I see a large number of improvements and enhancements since I last looked. There are some single player options and plenty of bots to fill a battlefield if you want to do some nice deathmatch if servers aren't full. Also looks like plenty of unlockables. If you are reading this, and on the fence, get it! Help the servers populate and have fun!

If you are into the crafting style games, this might scratch your itch. I am fresh off a lot of stardew valley (on the switch). And I love the day/night cycle concept. Also the visuals are really nice. Now, playing in VR...that is a whole other experience that needs to be played by VR enthusiasts. It is still in "beta" but I'll definitely up my review when I sing in some more hours. If you are looking for a fun crafting/survival game to break up some fast based FPS or VR shooters - check this out.

I bought this game a while back and was looking for an action packed FPS with some "old school feel" but new school ranking and competitive spirit. Well the community was dead and servers were never full - created a dull experience...

BUT I booted it up again after hearing some minor buzz from friends and wow- I am impressed! The servers are populated and you can play quick casual matches- they have a "featured playlist" with a unique loadout (Snipers or just shotguns).

And the best, ranked, competitive play. Similar to what you find in other titles. You also have a rank/progression system that keeps you coming back.

Having voice chat is a big plus as this reminds me of the days of old and people trash talking, or using it for co-operative play.

If you enjoyed COD titles, and find current games too bland or missing "something" I highly encourage you to give this a try and you will not be disappointed.

Silky smooth gameplay and slick visuals to top it off as well.

Just got this game and played for a while and after playing extensive rounds of Pavlov and Onward- I was itching for a "range type" shooter when I wasn't in the mood for PvP action in VR - holy crap does this deliver. I am curious how much "game" there is but at the very least, so far the gun customization, aiming, and "feel" of the shooting is spot on.

Those of you who enjoy Pavlov/Onward, and you DON'T have this - just get it. Well worth it! I'll update my review as I sink in more time.

There is no shortage of bow/arrow VR options and sometimes you are quick to dismiss but this is one you absolutely need to play if you have room scale VR. The pacing is just right, the feel is just right as well and looks great!

The audio is great, great soundtrack with a spooky ambience.

The tutorial is quick, painless and very easy to follow. Definitely one of the best ways to introduce you to the game mechanics. The movement concept works really well in intense combat after a few rounds.

The dyanmic level creation will keep me coming back hopefully for many, many playthroughs.

Visually, its sharp and right as it should be! No complaints. I'll be pouring more time in and hope to update the review with finer details but glad I jumped on this when I saw it.

Early Access Review
You enjoyed wipeout back in the day? Look no further. Oh you also want a VR experience included - stop looking, you found it! The music, balance of sound, visuals, everything is here and then some! Can't wait for this full release, but this is one hell of a killer anti-grav racer!

What a fantastic VR game (so far that I played, unsure how long it is). If you enjoy classic shoot-em-ups, this scratches that itch...in VR! Room scale is great too!

EDIT: The controller issue is FIXED! You can now play with a controller without an issue.

My original comment regarding multiplayer still stands. You cannot progress co-operatively but the base game is a lot of fun, offers a good challenge and is true to the monster franchise.

On a side note, the dev did fix this controller problem rather quickly.

OLD REVIEW:
Well, I bought this in hopes to play multiplayer but holy bugs batman!! My controller will not work with this game (Xbox One controller here) restarted, recognized in windows/other games without issue but not in monsters 2!

And Multiplayer is completely and utterly busted. Not to mention ONLY the host progresses with each level...so if you want to play through with someone you have to basically play through the game twice...

Come on guys...you know better!!! Look elsewhere until they fix this because at the core, this is a fun game...
