I finally got the whole campaign finished and i must admit that it was kind of a drag, tedious and tad boring..

The only part that was actually exciting and well made is the "Story", it's a good story, just not executed that well.

The game works with a very strict linear questline, too strict if you ask me.

Many times i got stuck and couldn't proceed without certain quest was passed a certain point and there wasn't really any indication of help toward what to do when you got in such a situation, which i did often, there was sometimes an indicator where to go, but 50% of the time there wouldn't be a indicator.

I also dislike that during Chapter V and the Epilogue, it says "Prepare for the battle ahead" indicating a boss fight, BUT since chapter IV its not possible to access storage and no shops or traders, so how are you supposed to prepare for a fight if you didn't have resources from storage in chapter IV and just proceeded on to chapter V, which happend in my case.

I had to go back many hours gameplay to get resources from my storage to create potions to beat the boss fights in chapter 5, which was extremely annoying.

Otherwise good game, but in the end it was more of a quest for me to finish it than enjoyment so i am giving it a thumps down.

Fallback is a new roguelike set in a post-apocalyptic era, where the surface of the earth has been affected by a giant ecological disaster that forced mankind underground. In this subterranean world, humanity succeeded in inventing machines that could do most of the dirty work, such as mining and establishing living conditions. But over time, the machines gained the intelligence to turn against humanity, quickly overpowering their creators, imprisoning and forcing many to do labor themselves.

By some miracle, you escape your prison. It now falls to you, the lone hero, to reach the surface and transport mankind's last hope: plant life capable of surviving in the environment. Of course, the machines that will do everything in their power to get you back to your cell--so use your jetpack to out smart them and free your fellow inmates to join in the fight!

Fallback has a learning curve, and will kill you the first couple tries, but rewards you with points for every kill that can be spent on different abilities at Module Stations. These bonuses include everything from better survivability to greater damage output.

My first few runs through the game led to many deaths and quickly taught me that this isn't the kind of game to rush headfirst into things. It takes careful planning, observation, and coordination of your attacks to be able to progress safely.

The first boss can be a challenge, but with a bit of practice, becomes easy to predict. After that, however, the second boss ramps up the difficulty. Without checkpoints or quicksaves, dying is not an option. And what about the third? Good luck! You'll need it.

Room contents are randomized, keeping you on your toes.

Every time you die, you'll never know what to expect next. This is because the map is procedurally generated. Even though individual rooms have the same structure, room contents and trap placements are unpredictable, making each run feel unique.

------------
TL:DR

+Strengths

+Plays great with a controller and decently on a keyboard. Controls can be remapped.
+Randomized maps, traps, and enemy placement each run.
+Strong bosses will put your skill to the test.
+Module Stations provide meaningful upgrades.
+Great voiceovers and sound effects.
+Detailed graphics make the environments come alive.
+Progression via permanent upgrades and unlockable characters.
+Relatively bug free.

-Weaknesses

-No mouse support
-No way to exit out to main menu without quitting the entire game, but this will likely be patched.
-There's room for more characters with unique play styles, the available ones are very similar.

It was such a surprise when i got a coupon to buy this game at a great discount and decided to go for it.

Unlike most, Book of Demons instantly felt like a very interesting game and caught my attention right away.

It didn't take too long to fully complete the campaign, but this game genre is one of the endless and it does it in a really good way, by first showing you a great story and then after killing the final boss, the endless mode unlocks!

The first Book out of 7 books, is a story about the game called "Diablo" and it is told by playing a character like on a dungeon board game and it's neat, you fight small bosses that act the same from diablo 3 by having different protection abilities and spells to kill you, there is 1-3 Acts to go through, with 3 main bosses to defeat.

There is alot of difficulty and replayability possibilities in this game and you have 3 different characters you can choose, there is also a "Permanent Death" difficulty for the most "Hardcore".

TL:DR
  • ++ A Dungeon Crawler with Hack and Slash elements to perfection.
  • ++ Many Minibosses with fun counter abilities!

  • + A lot of replayability and difficulty changes.
  • + A Hardcore mode with Permanent Death.
  • + No bugs or glitches.
  • + Working Leaderboards.

  • +/- A Endless Mode.
  • +/- Only 3 Acts.
  • +/- Only 3 Main Bosses.
  • +/- Only 3 Characters.

  • - No Multiplayer at all.
  • - Small wish that the game had more.
  • - No modding.

I'll give
Book of Demons
7/10
If the story was more finished and had a working multiplayer in some state, this could easily be a perfect score.

Sniper Elite 4 is well worth it for sniper enthusiasts.

Keep in mind that this is a "Third Person Shooter" so some "arcade" aspects is to be expected, but they have really tweaked the game very well with realism.

The campaign, could had been slightly better designed, cause it feels more like just playing through some designed "levels".

Took me between 50-60 hours, to complete the whole campaign with every side objective that follows on "Hard".

I have to point out that Sniper Elite 4's price is to high compared to what it has to offer, i would rather put this game around the price of being worth no more than 30 euro's in total.

Be ready for a lot of replayability! (sadly not meant in a good way.)

TL:DR

++Lots of possibility to tweak difficulty settings.
++There is a Shooting Range, a form for tutorial mode, if you are unsure about bullet drop or not that used to Rifles and Scopes.

+Great graphics and physx!
+Game runs perfectly smooth with great performance on PC.
+Perfectly working Co-op through the whole campaign.
+DLC missions is really good.
+No game breaking bugs or crashes.
+Grenades, mines and every kind of explosion is very enjoyable to use.
+Lots of environment interactions to use as traps, you can even shoot objects on NPC's, such as grenades, so on.

(*These things can probably be changed through difficulty settings, where i choose "Hard", because it had a "HUD".*)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
++/-NPC Ai is alright, but nothing impressive and can be easily trolled around.
++/-Playing without silencer isn't rewarding enough and there is too much ammunition for everything.
++/-Playing different weapons don't really feel different or appealing cause of slowmotion ability, which makes every weapon deadly, having a fast weak semi-shooter compared to a powerful single-shooter don't make much of a difference.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

+/-Few minor viewable bugs, like physx working too hard once or twice. (Is to be expected with this type of game and fun to see.)
+/-Campaign aka Singleplayer, feels more like level challenges, but with a lot of freedom. (Matter of taste.)
+/-Total of 8 locations + 4 with DLC, i would personally have liked a few more playable maps. (Matter of taste.)

-No bots available to choose for any multiplayer mode.
-Very high price for a 2 year old game, thats never been worth 90 euro to begin with.
-Might be boring in length as you can really only have fun replaying the same few levels.
-2 co-op missions where you MUST have a co-op partner in order to play those 2 missions.

Overall i'll give Sniper Elite 4,
6/10.

(In my opinion the game is great, but feels a little rushed and short, unless you keep playing with the difficulty and it is also too expensive, i wouldn't recommend buying it for it's full price.)
