Absolute gem of a game, tower defence mixed with roguelike elements with charming retro graphics and cute little gnome sprites. What's not to love.

Came into this game expecting to get bored after 30 minutes and have been pleasantly surprised that it has its grubby little claws in me making me want to play more and see what cool relic/gnome combos I can cook up

Hello? How have I not heard of this game until now? This game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good. Short but my god is it worth it. The story, the art, the music and the cinematography all weave so perfectly to tell an amazing tale of a boy looking to find his sister but is traversing a cursed land following Norse mythology. If that is your type of game please do yourself a favour and pick it up.

This game has a lot of potential and I hope it can grow into something better but in it's current state it's very bare bones.

Pros:
-The aesthetic and setting is amazing, big fan of the medieval wasteland vibe (but I'd also love some variety of landscapes with maybe forests, swamps, graveyards etc.)
-Fun game concept. (Reminds me of Lethal Company mixed with Dark and Darker)

Cons:
-There's a very small variety of;
Monsters
Maps
Treasure
Items to actually use.
-Once you lock the giant behind the first gate there is no actual threat outside of dungeons/abandoned towns you come across.
-There is one particular enemy I found rather frequently at the stops who would run faster than you, grab you with a massive hitbox, animation lock you and obliterate your body so you couldn't even be resurrected. This enemy felt incredibly cheap and at times unavoidable. I don't really get the point of a health system if more than half the enemies and traps one shot you.
-No actual motivation to earn money other than buying back your starting gear that you lose when you die.

I REALLY wanted to like this game but found myself bored after my first 50 minutes (I ended up playing an hour and a half because I was playing with a friend and didn't want to ruin their fun by hopping off.)

I don't regularly review games but I feel it would be unfair of me not to review this game considering how much fun I've been having (while the game appears to be getting review bombed).

I'd like to start the review by stating that yes there were massive performance issues on day one. That being said this was completely avoidable by:
1) Updating your graphics drivers
2) Lowering the graphics settings down (I lowered the settings down to low and the game still looked fantastic by the way)
This issue was quickly resolved though as there was a patch within the first 24 hours that allows me to play the game on ultra now with a fairly consistent frame rate of 60 fps.

TLDR; Issues were fixed quickly and most likely a lot of user error contributed to this

People were also stating that they were having consistent crashes, this was also patched within the first 24 hours and as I didn't experience one crash I'd imagine the reason people were crashing was due to them not properly updating their drivers as the game suggests when you first try to launch it with outdated drives.

TLDR; Same as above, Issues were fixed quickly and most likely a lot of user error contributed to this

People have also been upset that the seamless co-op isn't seamless enough for them. Basically the only thing I can see from their complaints is that their own main story doesn't progress with the host. This doesn't prevent them from staying after killing a boss and continuing the story with their friend. Most other souls-like games will kick you out after the boss has been defeated and not keep track of the progression either so I feel like criticism is rather irrelevant? But to each their own I suppose.

TLDR; Users had their own interpretation for 'Seamless Co-op' and weren't happy when the game didn't meet their expectations, this is still leaps and bounds above other Souls-like games

The final bit of criticism I have seen is that the game is too hard or that it is tedious. I've yet to feel like any of the combat is tedious and most normal enemies have been your average souls enemy (they are for the most part weak but punishing if ignored). The boss fights have felt incredibly unique and challenging in their own rights but nothing too difficult (and when they have been too difficult I simply left that boss fight and went somewhere else and levelled up a bit and came back when I was a more appropriate level. This is something you will do in all Souls-like games that don't have linear progression paths.)

TLDR; People are bad and need to get good, like honestly I'm not good at Souls-like games and I've not been unreasonably struggling with any of the content, and when I have it's because I'm somewhere that's intended for a higher level character.

The graphics in this game are absolutely beautiful, the world is carefully crafted and a lot of thought and care has gone into enemy/boss design to make sure nothing feels repetitive. If you're looking for a souls-like game with a creative twist I'd definitely suggest picking up this gem.

If you're concerned about the performance issues I'd say give it a bit of time to make sure everything has been patched. There are still a handful of performance issues that still exist but with the speedy response of the creators so far I wouldn't be surprised if they're set to be fixed soon :)

Fun game, far too buggy to play online, I've found if you get someone who just wants to be a pain and sit there and afk in the lobby there is no timer to start the game and you cannot leave and search for a new opponent it automatically reassigns you to the guy wasting everyones time. I will say this game is really fun if you can get friends to play local games with.

I would personally wait for them to fix a few more bugs and update the UI (so you can choose to be matched with a new opponent or make it so if they don't do anything after 2 minutes they autodisconnect or something) before purchasing the game for yourself.

EDIT: The issue I had the most problem with seems to be fixed.

I would still love to see them balance a few characters (Zetterburn) and I would love to see actual fighting AI in practice mode

Also as someone living in Australia I would love to be able to play online mode without a solid 3 second delay

Absolutely fantastic puzzle game with a dark, meaningful and passionate story with phenomenal music and art work. You play as the lovable, relatable and oh so sassy character Susan Ashworth, the main protagonist on her journey after death to release your spirit after you have been caught in limbo by the Queen of Maggots who has one final job before you may pass to the after life, to kill 5 people known as parasites.

Overall I would rate this game 10/10 the only thing I can think of that may be considered an issue is the game interface when interacting with items but I feel as if this gives the game an extra level of game mechanics that works well with the whole puzzle feel of the game.

PROS:
-Amazing Music (This game contains my favourite song from any game, the name of the song is 'The noises she makes in their bed')
-Amazing art work, it really captures the dark depressing feel of the game.
-Amazing story that works well with the art style and music to give an outsider an inside look of what it is like to be depressed (In my experiences anyway.)
-The game always keeps you on your feet and on edge making it a great physiological horror.
-Different endings including a 'Golden Ending' giving it great replayability.

CONS:
-The game ends (I know this sounds cliché but I was quite upset when the game was over, I wanted more!)
-Some areas I feel like the game could be a bit more leanient when it comes to making your own story (For example the game might give you 4 options, but only 1 of those options will progress the story and you can't proceed until you choose the right one.)
