Early Access Review
Game is online only but having horrible server issues that aren't being resolved. The game stutters like I haven't seen since I was a kid trying to play games with minimum requirements beyond my rig's specs, rendering the game unplayable. However, for this game, my PC should be able to handle it (8300X3D + 4080 S). When watching performance metrics I watch my ping go from 20ms all the way up to 10000ms if I provide any kind of input. Using a VPN doesn't help, and no difference in performance from Windows & Linux. I have a 1000 MB connection via cable, directly connected to my modem. I have a perfectly stable connection for other games, but this server/game has serious issues.

Can't possibly recommend the game in this state. It's too bad, I was really looking forward to this game, I was a big fan of the first game.

I attempted a refund, but was denied due to having troubleshooted with the game open for more than 2 hours. I will update this review if the matter gets resolved, but I would avoid this game for the time being.

Not my cup of tea.

The game appears to be mostly boss fights strung together by a tiny bit of exploration with very few incredibly easy enemies scattered about.

I enjoyed the theme, the graphics, and the music was just okay. Probably a great game for people who enjoy the boss fights from other games in the genre, but this isn't something I enjoy.

I can't recommend this. I love the base game, and every other DLC up until now, but the missions to unlock the contents of this DLC being in a separate mode from the sandbox is really annoying. The missions themselves are also really annoying. In general, I'd rather be playing the sandbox, but I feel compelled to finish the DLC missions, due to the sandbox contents of this DLC being locked. Not my idea of fun.

This is my favorite roguelike. I've been playing off & on for 10 years, have only beat it in roguelike mode once, and still haven't unlocked everything. You can play it for free at the game's website, but it really is worth the full price + all the DLC, in my opinion.

One of the best roguelikes I've ever played. This game is in the spirit of D**mRL, and made by the same person. If you want a preview of Jupiter Hell, I recommend downloading and trying out D**mRL, which is free, as long as ASCII graphics don't bother you. They are very similar games, though Jupiter Hell is superior in every way, in my opinion, and I'm sure there are people who disagree with me out there.
If you like roguelikes, and you like Doom, you will probably like this. Get it.

Best free game out there. This game is everything Diablo 3 should have been, and won't cost you a penny to play.

This game is awesome! I highly recommend it. Very much worth it at $4.99.

I purchased early access and expected a reputable studio like Double Fine to actually handle an early access project properly... but apparently they bit off more they can chew and are launching with an incomplete game, and asking the community to fill in the gaps. Double Fine has lost my respect and continued business.
