Got this and Last Light Redux on sale not expecting much from it but it turns out I enjoyed it.

To start with, the game throws you right in the middle of a big fight where you end up being pinned down by monsters. I was really confused about what was going on. Then the actual story starts. You are Artyom, a man who wants to save his home from a new emerging threat that appeared on the surface of the Earth, the Dark Ones, after mutants have taken over. You are guiding him throughout the story, uncovering the secrets of the deadly and atmospheric post-apocalyptic world. Personally, I found the story interesting enough for me to finish the game in 3 sittings.

Performance-wise, being an older game, I expected it to run well on my relatively decent PC (Ryzen 7 5700G, RTX 4060, 32GB RAM), so I cranked all the settings to max. To my surprise, I was getting around 50 - 60 FPS most of the time (even going down to the 30s) and my GPU usage was pinned to 100%. I did find the culprit though, SSAA, more about it here .

As far as gameplay is concerned, gunplay feels good enough especially when you get to modify your weapons or find already modified weapons after defeating enemies as loot or scattered around. The game seems to prioritize being stealthy, even recommending it in the tips, though I really suck at stealth games so I just ended up using firepower to get through the levels that involved stealth. This proved to be a bit of a problem since some of the enemies seem to be bullet sponges so I had to make use of a lot of ammo and grenades.

Level design-wise, I sometimes found it confusing. The game gives you a compass that shows you where to go but even with that, I got lost here and there when I was following the direction that it was showing me. I did find the compass mechanic interesting but also a bit annoying since it shares the same button as the button to use the lighter, M. Also, there is a journal paper on the compass, where Artyom writes down your current objective. You can see it if you have the compass out and press the right-click.

There is also a mechanic that isn't really explained, how to charge your flashlight and night-vision battery. Hold F and the charger pops up. Press the right-click multiple times until it is fully charged (it was probably explained in the original Metro 2033 game and it assumes you already played it, I suppose).

I would like to note that I played the game on normal difficulty and the Survival Mode (which is more akin to the original Metro 2033 game).

As a closing note, overall, I enjoyed the game. It really scratched the itch I had for the 2010s singleplayer shooters. The atmosphere was well done, even making me get jumpscared here and there by some attacking enemies. It also make me feel the fear of the unknown.

Good game!

One of the biggest redemption in video games history.
It's super fun to explore the vast universe especially when you do it togheter with some friends.
It might be grindy when it comes to repairing ships you find scattered around the planets/moons or when it comes to quests objects or even when repairing weapons but the second you finish repairing them is kinda rewarding so that's nice i guess.
The release of this game was a disaster,everything that was promised was not in the game but now after 2 years of updates i think the devs finally made the game they planned to make.
Personally i bought the game on sale but i think the quality of the game is finally reaching the full price tag but there is some work for the devs to do.

I am just speachless after finishing this game.
Everything is just perfect.The soundtrack is awesome,the art style is adorable and the story is simply outstanding.
I wasn't a fan of rpgmaker games in fact i've never actually liked them.But this game showed me that even a rpgmaker game can be a masterpiece.
I would like to thank the team that developed this wonderful piece of art for the journey they made for us and of course i am looking forward to the games they will release in the future.

Pubg killer confirmed!

The game is decent but partying is kinda lame...if you are in a party with 3 or 4 you already know who the infected are...well even if you are partying with one other player if you are the infected or your party member is infected he/she can tell you who the other infected is.Overall a decent game but as i said many people are "cheating" using this method. 7/10.

Played it on free weekend-loved it.
Bought it for 5 euros-worth it.

This game went through a lot of "phases" until it got in the current state.
Developers changed,source code got stolen (im not sure if this is true) and there was a 1:1 copy of this game called "DeadZ".
Right now the game is okay-ish. You don't have anything to lose if you play it,it's free.
Playing alone is kinda boring so bring some friends to play with.

A cs go cod rip off.
Pretty funny to play.
I like it.
