This game is everything I wanted from a Necrodancer version of classic track style rhythm game. It has its own spin on the formula with various monster types from the series creating complex rhythm hits, from delayed beats to triple hits within a single beat. The music is fantastic by Danny B and the crew with newcomer Alex (who did all my personal favorite tracks of the game, that's a high praise for this series). And there's SO many tracks to play, with some crossovers seeming to be on the way as well. I also cant leave out the awesome and simple custom track maker, which I've used for various tracks myself. Its a small learning curve, but its not difficult to learn by any stretch and seeing your creations in action afterwards is pretty satisfying.

Please support these devs if you're a fan of rhythm games and get this!

Just going from the demo alone, this going is going to be a wonder and enjoyable to master. Getting the timing down for all the monster hits coming at you with different speeds is just as fun to get into as it is chaotic. I couldnt help but find myself bouncing in my seat to the rhythm of whatever song I was up against and I'm excited to see the rest of the tracks. (Kinda hope the Cadence of Hyrule tracks find their way into the game eventually as well). Strongly recommend trying out the demo if you're a fan at all of beat-hitting track rhythm games.

I'll update this once the full version releases with full opinion

Fantastic game, but strongly recommended to play with others. Wish content would be released a bit more frequently than is planned on their roadmap, but it's already gotten a couple additions and that's not a bad thing, along with good balance checks.

Pick this up if you're a fan of Souls with a heavy dose of co-op!

While I have had my reserves about Underlords to start with, it's definitely coming into its own now with the addition of the Underlords finally being added. As far as Auto Chess games go, this one is definitely currently top of my list as far as enjoyment. It has a smaller learning curve than the other ones, especially since you dont need to worry about item combinations, and is constantly being updated and improved upon. Yes there is a fair amount of rng, which is going to be the case for any autobattler, but this one feels like it hurts you less overall.

Edit: To futher add, the new game mode makes for some great quick bite-sized games that take 10-15 minutes to play though, which personally is the perfect amount of time for me to set aside for this game. It's faster and has it's own strategy, which is great to see. Glad Valve is trying to change things in this genre up a bit.

After playing for dozens and dozens of hours, its time I write a review on this game. Nova Drift is by far one of my favorite indie games to come out in the last few years. The blend of Asteroids like gameplay with roguelite elements is very satisfying as you unlock more weapons, shields, ships and mod trees to gives you more options. The game difficulty itself is fairly simple and easy to learn, but absolutely hard to master as you learn what combination of mods work best with your playstyle to get to those higher enemy waves. The music is great as well, very atmospheric and then turns up the beat with each boss fight. The game itself being almost entirely done by one person is amazing in itself.

This is a must grab title for anyone that loves arcadey shooters and roguelikes alike!

Updated - To add more to this previous review, now that the game is due to be released shortly it is the best time to get in on it. Story mode has been added to it along with a many new bosses, enemies, ships and weapons since this original review was done. The dev is also very friendly with the community and always involved, which is an excellent trait in any developer!

Hands down on of my favorite indie games to come from Steam in the last few years. I'm a huge fan of the Metroidvania style games as well as Roguelikes and this one hits all the right tones, even as the game has gone through several changes in it's development. The environments are a joy to look at and the sound design is equally as amazing. Gameplay can get pretty frantic at times, but the learning curve is fair (until you reach that final boss for the 10th or so time that really sticks it to you). Definitely a must get for fans of the genres.

Just ONE MORE TURN pretty much sums up the gameplay of the Civ series.

So what is Atlas Reactor? Probably one of the most difficult to describe as an actual genre, but its like if XCOM and Frozen Synapse were combined with team-based multiplayer. Atlas Reactor is a turn-based simultaneous arena game, get together in 4v4 matches on a continuing variety of maps to prep, dash and blast your way to victory.

As you can tell I have well over 500 hrs put into this game, probably closer to 1000 before it was added to Steam. I've played through alpha, beta and now going into open and I have to say I absolutely love every bit of this game. The strategy, the abilities, the characters and the world. But by far, the community is one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of playing with. Nearly everyone who plays is pretty friendly and helpful, especially those that use the Atlas Reactor official Discord.

The game itself is Buy to Play to unlock everything permanently, the only thing actually buyable in-game currently are loot boxes, which give you nothing more than cosmetic stuff, which can just as easily be bought using the in-game currency for specific cosmetics. Nothing in this game is pay to win. And if you dont know how you feel about the game yet, there is a Free Mode, which is essentially a demo that allows you to play PvP with other people freely, but are limited to a rotating roster of characters. Play around on it for awhile and I'm sure it'll have you hooked if you enjoy tactical strategy games.

The learning curve on the game itself is easy to get into-hard to master type approach, with each character having their own separate learning curves as well. Also, every skill in the game can have variations to them in the form of Mods, which you adjust prior to playing and can change your strategy quite a bit. As far as character (known as Freelancers) types, you have the basic three, Firepower(DPS), Frontliner(Tanks) and Supports. However quite a few of them have hybrid roles at times. Objective is first to 5 kills or most kills at 20 turns, but will occassionally continue a bit passed that, but the matches themselves are fairly quick at about 20 minutes, approx 1 min per turn. You have 20 seconds to make your choices, then the actions play out on both sides, so you have to think quickly and work with your teammates.

I ask everyone to at least give it a shot if you're into multiplayer games and enjoy strategy, this game should be just right for you, especially if you're a fan of tabletop board games like Warhammer/Warmachine/HeroClix
