If you come into this expecting a tactical auto battler you are going to be disappointed. It is just an incremental game.

It has about 1.5-2 hours of gameplay total and it is quite fun.

Only issue I encountered was that after you beat the final boss you unlock some post-game upgrades which require you to farm that boss a few times, however every time I would kill the boss I would be forced to watch the end credits and then be sent to the main menu which slowed things down quite a bit.

Fun little game you can 100% in about an hour and a half.

Got told to die in a fire when I sunk a guys ship.

Campaign forces you to have this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ai teammate that not only can kill you but also hogs all your respawns.

Recommended for the endless mode and all that but ♥♥♥♥ is the campaign completely insufferable because of how ♥♥♥♥ your ai follower is.

Only downside is that its pretty short. Would love some kind of expansion, free or not.

I wouldn't go as far to say its better than risk of rain 2 but its definitely different enough from it to still be worth your time if you haven't played the first one before.

Played the first game as a kid and have been patiently waiting for this one to come out for a long time. And its great!!!

Its like top down borderlands with destiny's loot system and fn:stw style missions.

The weapons all feel great, even better than they did in the first game and they have so much more depth.
You get so much room to make unique builds and weapon combos with each character that you never feel the need to just dump all your skill points into one tree or only use one type of weapon.

For the price its definitely worth getting to play it early. Although, fair warning, the game is limited to North America East and Asia regions. That being said I'm from Australia and haven't really had any noticeable lag or input delay or anything like that so its not a crazy big deal but I can understand why that might be a deal breaker for some people.

The factory must grow and so must the price-tag, apparently.

Its a good game but no sales and the constant price increases are a bit much, a few more and it will be hard to say its even worth its price anymore. If you want it, get it. it aint getting any cheaper.

Personally I enjoy what multiplayer currently has to offer but it is missing a considerable amount of basic features that would be expected from games of similar genre such as in-game text/voice chat or custom games. Regardless, playing it in private lobbies without randoms is pretty fun.

The campaign isn't terrible but it can be quite short due to the game defaulting to the easiest difficulty which is so incredibly easy that the only thing that will stop you steamrolling the entire thing in like 3 hours is the game bugging out and soft-locking you.
The hardest difficulty, Legendary, is pretty challenging but can feel a bit repetitive since the bases and enemy attacks are so strong and frequent that you need to really manage your resources well or you might end up in a situation where you struggle to produce units which can slow the game play down to a crawl.

The controls take a little getting used to since they're a bit fiddly and your difficulty changes do not take effect until after the tutorial (night beacon destroyed) which is probably the number 1 cause of all those 0.8 hours played product refunded negative reviews.

If you think you might like it but are on the fence I highly recommend you give it a try via gamepass or check back in a month or two when they have hopefully addressed a few of the larger issues with pvp.


EDIT: Changed to negative. It has been several months now with next to no significant fixes or changes. Very minor bug fixes taking over a month to be put out. I'd hold off on buying this until they actually start updating it if that ever happens.
