A fairly simple but engaging rogue-like that doesn't outstay its welcome.
The controls and game-play loop are both solid.

Very reasonably priced as it can be completed 100% in well under 10 hours.

This DLC is like that one friend in your class that spends every lesson persistently jabbing you in the arm with their pencil.

The idea of cosmic storms sounds great, but they spawn at a ridiculously high default rate and there are way more negatives to a storm than there are positives and as such it's just an annoyance every time one spawns that trips up the flow of your game.

You want to get on with your task but you can't, you have to keep turning your attention to dealing with being jabbed.

Great game, very casual, with smooth controls, and a very active developer in the community.

100% worth your £5.

Early Access Review
There's no hiding from the fact this game is very buggy and very unfinished.

However, it is in Early Access and in Beta status. The potential is there, it could become a great game once all the features are polished and working fully.

>Made $400 delivering pizza
>Blew it in the casino
>Made $500 rescuing people from drowning
>Made $25000 in the casino
>Bought Lambo
>Accidentally bet $10000 in casino
>Lost
>Left with $4

Do Not Buy!

I'd like to say it has potential, but it's not like it's a brand new game released in early access. It's been developed over many years and is still embarrassingly unpolished.

There are many issues but the main ones for me were:

The map is large, but empty and lifeless... and riding around it doesn't feel smooth at all. Your player glitches out often (like randomly performing a grind on the floor, clipping through the floor, or limbs twisting strangely).
The "challenges" are really difficult from the first one you see, there's no easy ones to start off with and learn the ropes other than the tutorial.
The tutorial tasks include videos which can bug out in many ways; for me it was the sound being so low I couldn't hear the voice explaining the mechanics, and had to look the videos up online instead.

It's a game I really want to enjoy, but there's just too much wrong with it, especially when you consider the price, which by the way has already been reduced from it's original listing price.

I will probably give this game another go when it's had some updates and more importantly, on a 75% sale.

Early Access Review
Shatterline

TL;DR Low content and could use tweaks, but PVP and PVE are both a lot of fun. It's new and Early Access, and it's free. Worth an install!

Shatterline is a shooter developed by Frag Lab from the heart of Ukraine.
It is currently in Early Access, and as such is low on overall content; the team are currently working behind the scenes on stability, optimisation, and bug fixes.

The game features playable characters that each have their own abilities and equipment, each with a powerful ultimate ability that charges during a game. The only items they share are the arsenal of weapons.
The weapons themselves are currently divided into 5 tiers, each tier having an AR, SMG, Shotgun, Sniper, and a sidearm. As you play you gain XP that raises the tiers available to you, which then allow you to purchase new weapons with the easily obtainable non-premium currency.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I love the fact that a Tier 5 weapon isn’t necessarily more powerful than a Tier 1. This allows variety. On top of this, every attachment and top-end skins apply different modifiers to their stats, too.
Guns can be moulded to your play-style.

Your choice of gameplay consists of PvP and PvE.
The PvE section of the game is currently quite bare bones, but has so much potential it could become as crazy and interesting as a run of Risk of Rain 2.
The map is large but mostly empty. Every encounter feels very similar to the last, as if there’s only a list as long as 10 different scenarios that could occur at each Supply Drop.
Each PvE run can consist of up to 3 special events, and then a final boss fight… though again, the variety of each is slim.
With all that said, starting with nothing, and putting together a load-out of perks and guns as you progress through, getting continuously stronger against the ever harder onslaught of enemies is a lot of fun.
I hold a lot of hope for the growth of this mode as the possibilities for perks and encounters are as wide as the developers’ imaginations!

On the PvP side, it has your basic ‘Team Deathmatch’ and ‘King of the Hill’ style game modes, as well as ‘Escort’, where one team must escort a moving vehicle along checkpoints, and the other team have to stop it. It’s a meat grinder, and it’s great.
The maps are for the most part amazing. There are multiple routes around the maps and destructible passageways to open even more.
My only issue is some chokepoints are so close to spawns that they are near impossible to push through in 'Escort' with 2 competent teams. However, this may not be an issue in a more strategic, organised team.
On top of these modes there are rotating weekly events which feature different rule-sets, and a fantastic mode called 'Barricade' where the teams literally build their half of the map before a last team standing (one life) round begins.

Overall this game is limited in content at the time of writing, but what is there is an incredible foundation. I eagerly await the tweaks, improvements, and content in the future.
The gunplay is smooth and satisfying. The maps are interesting and engaging.

Though in a lot of ways it feels very similar to every other modern FPS, what it does differently shines bright!
And it’s free.
