Really fun, still loving it even though its rare I have time to sit down and play

Just sitting around watching the city grow, poop lakes overflow and random meteors create holes that can be put in the middle of new nature reserve space

10/10 Game DLC is worth it if you just buy it in the bundles, I've now bought it at least 3 times over just to get friends playing, never played sp, if you can find a good server thats the way to go

Updated Review:

Alright, so after recently coming back to the game, after finding out they have loads of mods now.
Finding a server you fit on is not as difficult, there's definitely better communities than before.

I love it, it feels closer to the DayZ of old, but with improvements in the crafting and hunting/fishing/farming. Being able to live off the land in between your trips to civilization to gather supplies that you cant craft or gather from the wilderness. It is more of what I felt i wanted from the game in the survival space. The ability to find vehicles is a huge plus, no more making it a running until you starve or get eaten simulator.

I still recommend it, I have always had a place for the ARMA version and love that this has improved so much.

Original Review:

Ok, I don't have near as many hours into this as some other reviews here, but I wanted to voice my opinion.

First, If you plan to buy this game for what you think it is, I highly recommend buying Arma 2 Combined ops and installing the Dayz mod.
The game lacks a playerbase now that most have given up, making it either lonesome and boring, or exciting if you like running into pricks that don't even attempt using the mic until theyve shot your face.

Second, Don't buy it if you dont have a hell of a pc, the screenshots and such they show off, take more than the recommended specs to achieve the settings, and in some cases, even highest doesn't look that good.

That said, I do recommend this game, to anyone that might still hope for improvement, and as well if you have a group to play with, just don't expect to feel like you're having a good time after the first couple of deaths by doors opening on you.

3/10 for Development
3/10 for Players

If you buy games to have a good time and generally better gameplay/community servers with owners that keep up with their players, get Arma 2

Pshhhh, so, i've owned this since July 20th 2015, and I've played 7 hours. I cant say much as the last time i played it was 5 minutes before i gave up. with all the new interest in the full release I've seen on facebook, i sure hope it has a lot more to offer than it did when i bought it as it had horrible controls, didnt have MP at the time so hope that works, and didny have much to explore either. I would still recommend it though, for 15$ the building was nice, and really, we all just love LEGO deep down

{EDIT} Wrote the review this morning after the LEGO facebook page reminded me it existed, since then it became 30$ and no longer early access, i would still recommend, BUT, for those considering it for their children i would recommend a console version, the controls are still very wonky and it isnt greatly optimized even for a pc slightly above their recommended specs

Bought this on sale for half price yesterday 19/02/2017. Already 11.2 hours into it, its quite good, as building is expensive, it takes a lot of gathering to build. love the boats, and the hunting so far. Keep it up Devs!

A Driving simulator in the first 2 tutorials, a trainwreck for building bridges on all the others, controls are awkward with scroll wheel letting you get closer, but you cant build with it down, i dont think id even bother with the full game. 3/10 for its physics and driving that work ok at best, 1/10 for the bridge building. Want a bridge builder? maybe try PolyBridge, havent tried it, but it looks better, and im sure there are free bridge builders online.

Being that i just jumped on the wagon for this game, and that of my 95 hours 60 were during the 3 days free before i bought it, and readed negative reviews.
I agree AI could be better than the random cargo ships (that dont carry much) but i would recomend this game to anyone who has a set group of friends, and one that would host the game each time, im not a fan of the online simply because of constant attack by other players while building, but with a group of 2 or 3 friends we have had a bit if fun playing simply starting on a single crashed red ship, that then grew to 2 flagships and a small fleet of miners/attack vehicles, however i would suggest AI, maybe a crew to fight in some of the ships? and possibly the addition of planets would be cool (though i get it may be harder with randomly generated maps to have large ones spawn)

Really i still think its a pretty cool game, however, wont be expecting to try medival engineers until this one gets a tune up :P

I recommend it at about an 8/10 level to people who enjoy a private game of building and mining with friends
