Game is bad. Doesn't feel like Stalker at all. It lacks atmosphere and character.

This game feels empty and meaningless. Gunplay is boring, Characters and NPCs are hollow and unresponsive. Making the player character speak was a bad idea too. All the responses are just fillers and I don't feel attached to the stupid words coming out of Skif's mouth..
Menus are not User friendly. You loot with "F" but can't close the inventory you just opened with the same button.

I could go on and on, but here is my suggestion:

Go play the original STALKER instead. Pick up Shadow of Chernobyl or Call of Pripyat. If you feel adventerous go play "Stalker Anomaly" or "Lost Alpha" instead.

We may have won the PSN requirment fight of May 2024... for now. Don't let this victory fool you in to thinking Sony isn't going to try again however. Plus, several countries are still locked out of playing.

The next time, there will be no announcment. On day-x, you will have their utter garbage forced down your throat again and there will be nothing you can do about. The Countries that have been removed from buying this game on Steam were not given the chance to buy the game again as of May 6th, 2024.

Just remember that it is Sony and not Arrowhead that is trying to milk you for every single penny.

Edit 6. 12. 2023: The switch to UE5 and the "improvements" they're adding to the game are making it laggy as hell. They're doing the same thing they did with Squad, which is to "improve" the graphics so a majority will have to lower their settings in order to still play. I'm running a beefy GPU and had no problems prior, now, when there is a massive base assault, everything turns in to a powerpoint slideshow every few seconds.

They are currently ruining the game by introducing weak weapons, debuffing the ones already in the game and removing essential gadgets from classes, locking them behind other classes to force players in to a specific play style they deem fit.

The new game modes which they introduced are very rough and will need a ton of tweaking before they become fun. The addition of night maps sounds good on paper but is badly executed as there is no light, other than your torch that shines ten meters and then cuts off immediately.

If you get goosebumps watching Starship Troopers 1, you will get them playing this game. They really caught the whole atmosphere of the first movie.

Boring and repetitive. The thing you do most, building and decorating, because that's the only thing that has some depth as of now, is very tedious.
The User Interface is quick to understand but lacks a ton of quality of life features. The filters for buildings, reseting lists when you close the building tap and most importantly, slow scrolling lists to shuffle through.

Overcooked but you can choose your own stress levels. It supports up to 4 player co-op with keyboard controls being good enough for once. You can remap the keyboard binds, just not to the mouse.

The menu has mouse support!!!

It does need a bit of planning but overall it's much more relaxing. Mistakes are your own, not something the Devs force upon with some really crappy map designs. Nobody is forced to do one job or another, everyone can choose freely what they want to do.

When you make changes to your restaurant or the layout, you can do a practice run to see how things work. This is really helpful for more advanced appliances.

Warning to all that want to play Co-op. Progress is only saved for the host. Co-op players do not get the benefits of the host, such as the crossbow.

Why do developers think I want to smash the F-Key in order to do most basic things such as opening crates... Who in their right mind wants quicktime events? Maybe they put that stuff in to draw away from the HORRIFIC story writing. The characters feel flat and make stupid decisions.. think of James Bond villain explaining how he's going to end the world for 10 minutes and then unties Bond... There was a section a guy was taken prisoner, guarded by several well trained soldiers and SOMEHOW, he got free?

Oh, the game is quite buggy too and Coop is quite laughable. Ziplines for one player, no ziplines for the others. The other day they are gone, 3rd day, they're back. It's completely random what kind of part of the game is currently broken.
The game keeps surprising me in how badly put together it is and yet it receives mostly good reviews. In my eyes, this game doesn't deserve a rating above 5/10.
There are game breaking bugs that force you to reload sections or even close the game to continue. Some features just randomly don't work, like the "Q-Scanning" and then all of a sudden, works again... The whole parkour side of the game is just as buggy. Sometimes, you grab on to ledges you don't want to and get stuck in some wonky animations, other times you just fall through things and sometimes, your character doesn't even attempt to grab on to things that are clearly marked as climbable (Check Bazar church tower for example.)

But quite frankly the worst part of the game is the combat. A lot of time and think power was put in to those fancy smancy moves, yet they make you weaker. If you just upgrade your weapon with some mods and hit Mouse1 as fast as you can, you'll always end up making more damage than when you go through all your skills and gadgets.
Oh, and by the way, half of the time your hits don't connect, making your attacker magically walk through your attack and hurt you instead, all the while enemies randomly teleport around, instantly warp in to existance and stun you out of nowhere.

The game is intense and the gunplay feels amazing, but right now, the game doesn't really want to go in one direction or the other.
For now, the community is split between PvE and PvP, basebuilding is badly done and lacks depth. Playing with friends is currently a burden, seeing as there is no way to spawn together in as a team, even on a PvE-Only server, forcing you to run over half the map to find one another.

For me personally, it would be amazing to see the devs turn the game completely in to a PvE setting and add a little personality to the game, not in the name of zombies, but something akin to the STALKER series, which would help build a story for the game and immensly improve the atmosphere.

Can't recommend this game at the moment. It would be fun, but it's quite repetitive and many missions are locked behind game breaking bugs. Doors not getting unlocked or whole sections of maps not loading in, thus not allowing you to get to your target.
A bug I've reported through a ticket was closed, but the bug remained without me knowing if they actually look in to it or not.

If you want to play this game, wait a year or so till the major bugs are hammered out.

I highly recommend this game if you seek story over gameplay. If you want a shooter, go play a shooter instead, this is a story game so take it as such.

After some time in to the game I can clearly say, there are some glitches, some that require you to load a quicksave, yes.
Textures do pop in here and there, but I play with a 1060, so that's no surprise. I have a stable 40fps on medium after all, so graphics aren't as bad as people claim them to be.

What really stuns me is how deep the game is and how lively all the NPCs are. In conversations, the people feel so real. When contemplating life, they shake with their legs while sitting for example. They take a second to respond upon a deep question and what not. The missions also feel connected. If you don't take care of things in time, it will have consequences.
Everything you do has an impact, it may not be an impact the size of a nuke, but seeing minor changes due to some failed missions can have such a personal impact.
