Yeah nah, it tries to ape doom2016 as if forcing constant weapon swaps and mandatory melee kills through scarce ammo and rock-paper-scissors enemy design was a good thing. Visuals are cool, I give them that, but they have nothing more going on for themselves.

Early Access Review
It should've been a mixed review but as it stands my experience is more positive than negative. Very stylish and atmospheric but still very obviously unfinished and rough around the edges. Devs do work to make things better and add new content but the game is still far form being where it needs to be. Gameplay is a bit basic but fun enough to keep me playing, got ~40hrs on the clock as of writing this review. Can be a conditional recommendation if you can handle playing a game in such state, which often means making your own fun.

P.S.: If you were hesitant to get TFW because of water disappearing in realtime, they reworked this mechanic so water is now used for a different purpose. This is what made pull the trigger on buying and I have no regrets doing this.

A solid super metroid spiritual successor. A bit short and easy but hey, it's free.

A very well made RPG with captivating plot, good writing and very unusual setting. Really well made, it punches above it's double-A status and looks almost on par with triple-A titles. Combat is a bit simplistic but still serviceable. This can be forgiven though, as it's certainly not the main focus of the game though, story and characters are. Thaumaturge is not Disco Elysium, but it's certainly one of the "thinking man's RPGs" which it inspired.

For best results, set voiceover to Polish, you will not be disappointed.

Surprisingly good for what it is. Looks like there's no microtransactions too, at least on PC.

Amazingly deep and well-written CRPG with immeasurable amount of meaningful choices with consequences that will shape the game world. A game that you can lose yourself in, and spend dozens and dozens of hours just to feel like you're still scratching the surface of what this game have to offer. In-game drawn art and voice acting are top notch and really make characters feel alive.

On the negative side, RPG system(P&P Rogue Trader) is not the easiest one to wrap your head around and may be too convoluted at times. Game also starts bit slow(in many ways due to how RPG system works) so combat may feel shallow until you'll gain a solid amount of levels, but then it will really shine with tons of tactical options, interesting skill interactions and party members which feel powerful. Finally, graphics, while not bad, are certainly retro-styled and may not be for everyone.

From a 40k fan perspective, it's a real treat, a chance to peek at Imperium at a ground-level with everything being as lore-accurate as it gets.

And from a newcomer perspective, it's surprisingly easy to get accustomed to as every 40k-specific term and word has an in-game popup that explains it in simple yet accurate terms.

An easy recommendation to any CRPG or 40k fan!
