This game is what I wished Pizza Tower was back when it came out. Something about it just didn't click with me, probably how it was hyperfixated on having "good runs" on every level and grading everything you do (& also not a fan of the MS Paint artstyle and the fanbase of <= 12-year-old brainrots). Antonblast feels much closer to its Wario Land 4 origins, not just with its visuals and feelings, but level design too.

The music is PHENOMENAL. The humor is QUIRKY. Everything is EDGY and BADASS in the good kind of way!

My only gripe is the lack of things to do after beating the game. Sure, you can hunt for all the collectables and there are two alternative gamemodes, but when you get good enough to memorize level layout and boss attack patterns, it leaves me wishing for something more.

Despite that, Antonblast is worth every penny. Buy it. Endorse it. Bust your balls while trying to no-hit-run the bosses. It's the true successor to the best platformer game ever made. Even just getting to experience all the levels for the first time is a fantastic experience, and slowly overcoming the toughest bosses is satisfying.

My main concern with these kinds of co-op games are griefers and toxic people. Buying this, I was expecting the worst from public matches. But turns out, this game's community is superior. I'd like to say that playing with random people is actually the most fun way to play the game. I've not met a single griefer in my 150 hours of playtime. Everyone is supportive of each other, and communication is simple yet effective, even if you're not using voice or chat. Just hearing everyone yell "ROCK AND STONE!" after a successful mission, man it's amazing.

If you're still concerned, or just want to learn the ropes in peace (like I did, which I recommend), yes, the game can be played solo and is completely doable. Enemy damage is scaled with player count, and you'll even get assistance from a drone thingy. I heavily recommend public games though, after you've learned the basics of each mission type.

About the game itself. You complete different types of missions underground with 3 fellow dwarves, while shooting creatures and getting sidetracked by all kinds of bonus objectives and events. Even though there are like 7 different mission types, I've not gotten bored of them yet, thanks to every mission feeling different, whether it's the people, the cave layout, the biome, the mission modifiers, everyone's weapon loadouts, the difficulty or the side events you may stumble upon.

There are 4 different classes, each with their unique weapons, traversal tools, upgrades and perks. I really like the weapon customization, it allows different playstyles. Every class has primary and secondary weapon, and some unlockable ones. All the weapons feel unique and can be adjusted to excel at certain mission types, for example.

There is also end-game content, including 3-in-one-missions, Deep Dives, that positively mix things up, weekly assignments, and extra weapon upgrades called overclocks that alone can completely alter your playstyle. Exploring all the play styles helps keeping the gameplay fresh. Oh yeah, and there's mods, which are easy to install and vary from quality-of-life changes to meme sounds and complete game overhauls.

Rock and stone.

To start off my review, I'd like to state that YES, SEA OF THIEVES CAN BE PLAYED SOLO. ALTHOUGH IT'S EASIER AND WAY MORE FUN WITH PEOPLE, but if you have any interest, I'd recommend just getting the game and testing how it feels. That's what I did. THIS REVIEW IS WRITTEN FROM A PERSPECTIVE OF A SOLO PLAYER. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN THE GAME AND HAVE FRIENDS, JUST BUY IT ALREADY.

My friends have lost their interest for the game, so more than 90% of my playtime is done solo. First I was scared to solo, since in battle situations you're in a heavy disadvantage when compared to 4-man galleons or even to 2-man sloops. The solution? Avoid all conflicts. That's what I did for my first 100 hours, when loot and reputation actually mattered to me. Go to another island or outpost if somebody's already there, sail away, slow down the chasing ships' progress with fire and explosives, etc. It's important to know that sloop (the ship type for 1-2 players) is faster than other ships when sailing AGAINST the wind, letting you to get away from the ships with more manpower.

Outside of PvP, the game is still great fun when solo. Different voyage types from digging up chests to locating sunken ships, all great. Completing voyages will get you loot, which you may to sell at any outpost. Sold loot raises your reputation with the corresponding trading companies, allowing you to take on more complex but higher value voyages. There's also a clever risk/reward system known as emissaries that can make your loot up to 2.5x more valuable, while also making you a valuable target due to your emissary flag they can sell. World events, which give a lot more loot than voyages, are tough for a solo player, since anyone could just show up and snatch your progress. Many of the events aren't even balanced since they take forever for a solo player to beat.

However, Tall Tales are a great way to experience the game, even when solo. These take you on epic journeys, which include puzzle-solving, PvE fights, game lore and adventuring. What's so great about these is that you got nothing to lose. Tall Tales feature a checkpoint system, letting you resume from certain points. That's what helped me to learn PvP, funnily enough. I had nothing to lose, so I actually engaged with other ships, and even ended up with some stolen loot alongside the tale completion reward. The new Pirates of the Caribbean -themed Tall Tales mostly take place in a separate space outside of the main map, allowing the players to take their time with the experience. I'd recommend the original 9 Tall Tales if you'd like to learn the ropes. And don't worry about the puzzle parts, since there are detailed guides on the Internet on solving them, such as the website RareThief.

What I like about the player progression is that it doesn't depend on how much loot you cash in; a day 1 player has all the same tools as a seasoned veteran. Gold can only buy you cosmetics. Slowly mastering the weapons, ship controlling tricks and battle strategies is the progression.

The game itself is very beautiful, even with "cartoony" graphics. Music is extremely epic, and the world, alongside with its intriguing lore, keeps evolving with new updates. The developers really show their love for the game and its community.

Nowadays I don't really care about the loot, not afraid to sink. It's a pirate game after all. If you can't accept the fact that you may end up losing an hour of voyage progress every now and then, don't buy the game. Learn from your mistakes, enjoy the victories, and make some friends if possible, so you can actually play the game the intended way.

I absolutely LOVE this video game. The obvious needs to be said: if you enjoyed the 2 first Paper Mario-games, you'll most likely love this too.

The premise might seem simple and overdone "ugghh go collect X amount of pieces in order to unlock the ultimate reward and beat the video game", but trust me, the game makes it interesting later on. I got absolutely sucked in by the story and great writing the game has: I talked to every NPC I saw and even tattled them and the locations, I just have to appreciate all the effort that went into it. They really managed to make the characters - even NPCS - interesting and unique.

The soundtrack consists of straight up bangers. Seriously, look it up.

I currently have 32 hours into this game, and I just beat the final boss. The game is decently lengthy, as to be expected with focus on story and dialog. There are also a variety of side quests, exploring old areas, additional character development and optional bosses, all of which I haven't even finished. There's also hard mode (that can be toggled on/off at any point), which I'll be trying next. Definitely worthy of replaying.

The battle system, dare I say, is way better than in the original Paper Mario-games. There are no partners, but 3 all-time party members, with mechanics such as bonus abilities with medals, handing over turns to other party members and e.g. knocking down airborne enemies with boomerang so others can also hit it. It's definitely an improvement over Paper Mario and fun times figuring out the best strategy with medal combinations.

This video game is 200% worth the price if you enjoy turn-based RPGs with overworld exploring, quests, puzzles and a great story. Sad that this game doesn't really gain the attention it really deserves. I probably missed some important points, but just experience the video game yourself.

First it seems like one of those mobile farm games, but it's lot deeper. Too much stuff to do, and pretty darn addictive.
