The game feels very undercooked, with the campaign being the only polished part of this game.

In Operations many things take control away from your character, gun strikes instead of being a reward for knocking back enemies or parrying, are in fact a punishment, as you can take damage during the full uncontrollable animation that both moves your camera and leaves you unable to parry/dodge.
Parrying is just as unreliable, you only get to parry whats directly in front of you, but the game decides which enemy you will be parrying, even the ones behind you, meaning you might just almost land that perfect parry, but you'll turn around and get stunlocked instead, the existence of fencing parry also leads to players just sitting next to a wall parryspamming.
Since i'm on the topic of defensive options, dodges are absolutely useless, you cannot cancel your swing with them and on every class other than assault and vanguard, it leaves you vulnerable unless you perfect dodge. That means if you are getting chased by gaunts, your only choice ever is to parry, as dodging actively punishes you and makes you take damage instead.

Now since I talked about how loose the controls are, lets talk enemies, a lot of enemies are ridiculously overtuned and made artificially difficult to make you hate the controls more, whip enemies tend to have and easily dodgeable/parryable combo, until you parry the second strike, because the third comes instantly and no matter if you parry or dodge you will get hit, this is bad, but not as bad as shooters dealing damage to you through hordes of enemies, aswell as a lot of them attacking through walls, which there isn't much cover to begin with on the majority of the maps. Thousand sons are the most guilty of this, as they will 100% use rockets that chase you through cover and teleport right behind you, making them almost impossible to counter besides making sure you kill them quickly enough, which is nothing more than a gear check.

Lets speak about PvP now, the balance in PvP is very rock-paper-scissors, which mean that sometimes there is absolutely nothing you can do, this is both good and bad since you can now do counterpicks to get advantage over the other team, but can also lead to frustration, overall not a bad experience besides some weapons being pretty overtuned for their dps, and shock nades being just a straight upgrade to the normal nade for no apparent reason, having a blind, a stun and a lingering damage field is pretty bonkers for a game with limited cover on it's maps.

I do not recommend the game as it is unless you wish to play the campaign solely, it is a very frustrating experience and as I recall games are meant to be fun, there is no room for getting better as you simply do not have the control to do so.

I wish there was a neutral button on steam but here we are.

The game was great for the time I played it, the atmosphere is great, the survival aspects of looting and crafting, as well as the cars and exploration aspects were handled exceptionally well. There are no forced RNG mechanics and no pay2win.

BUT the combat is mediocre, guns feel quite basic, and instead of getting cool abilities to define our playstyle like shown in one of the 2 year old preview trailers, we got glorified pokemon that are quite forgettable and almost never used because of how underpowered they are.

The game also has no real endgame outside of dps chasing, there is only one difficult boss that cannot be disregarded with a gear check, and there are is no true group content that needs coordination. The prime wars are basically resource vacuums for frankly bad rewards, so the gameplay loop feels unrewarding.

In conclusion: Game is fun for quite a while, they did a lot of things right with monetization and first impressions, but once the novelty of "new game" wears off, the cracks really begin to show, there is basically nothing to keep you playing after you reach max level besides making the bosses die faster, no real challenges or hard content to chase.

Game is built on a fantastic idea with a great execution, however there are too many glaring issues to be resolved and I cannot recommend it at the moment, balance does not exist, meta builds dominate every match, and there is of course the chinese hacker problem.
The game modes are inherently flawed and reward players for playing slow and avoid fights until someone makes a move, which is by design slow and not fun to play against. There are far too many tools to defend a point as opposed to how many we have to assault one, there is also almost no point in taking the vault first as you can just wait it out and steal it right at the end, again reinforcing the slow playstyle and ratty behavior.

Honestly, until the game gets hit with some serious changes, I can't recommend playing competitively. Game is still fun as hell in casuals but it will get infuriating once you run into people employing the most unfun tactics that the game encourages.

Very similar in gameplay to the first game, except instead of killing cops in one bullet to the head, they use their reinforced craniums to absorb at least 3 shots before going down, all while keeping the same ammo economy as the first game.
Went from being a shooter game to being a scavenger game, because there is never enough ammo.
I would consider this a stealth only game because so far, that's the only thing about it that seems at least partially finished.

The new content drop has more cosmetics included than actual content, come back to the game in 2 - 3 years when they finally finish the game, because at this rate all you will have is a very expensive dress-up barbie game.

EDIT:
Game is now getting actively updated and is pretty poggers.

I'd rather shove my bollocks through a meat grinder than play more of this, servers be running so good that it takes 3 seconds for an enemy to react to taking damage.

Don't be fooled by all the negative reviews saying that the game was a disaster, it's still a really fun, story driven shooter.
Yes, a shooter, even the creators started calling it an Action/Adventure title rather than an RPG. Get it on sale, and prioritize side missions, some of them are just gold.
