Early Access Review
First game me and my two friends entered the facility. My buddy got locked inside a room with a hoarding bug and flipped his ♥♥♥♥ and ran away screaming. I can still hear his screams echo through the halls even way after we found out they're relatively harmless lmfao.

Good game, and very promising. I'd love to see my friends scream in terror in the dark some more.

Until Crytek releases some substantial content to the game, I do not recommend anyone to spend money on this.

Scrapbeak was added in March/April of 2021. The DeSalle map was added in July of 2021. Since then, they have added $159 worth of DLCs that add a legendary hunter, and a few weapon skins (19 DLCs averaged to about $8), a few weapons/variants (which haven't shaken up the Mosin Sniper/Nitro/Slugs meta that has been a thing since this game's release), and a map 'variant' (which really just reduced the vision and overall size of the map).

Me and my friends have agreed to not spend any more money on DLCs or really play it since nothing new has been added, and the droll of the same repetitious game play set in. Either something substantially new needs to be added, or the player base is going to continue to die as not everyone believes cosmetic DLCs are enough to freshen up the game.

This game is really fun. Like many others, this game tickles my nostalgia of playing Paper Mario on the N64 as a kid. I highly recommend this game if you enjoyed the classic Paper Marios (I can't say anything about the new switch one, but I heard it isn't the same).

I just wish this game had Point Shop items. I'd buy the ♥♥♥♥ out of those.

Early Access Review
Very fun early access build! I believe it to be worth the price as it is right now as an early access, and also the hope that the developers keep producing new content! I am looking forward to all that the developers have in store for the game, because it has been a while since I have enjoyed an Indie Survival game such as this. Me and my friend found the challenge in the game very rewarding.

Again, very well made and very polished (compared to most other Early Access games). I (and my friend) look forward to what Pugstorm has in store!

I come back to this game every so often, and each time the Devs have released something new and exciting to the game. This game is incredibly fun, whether you're alone or your pals get together to go mining together. Of course, at least at one point in the mission someone has to say "I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole." for old time's sake.

TL:DR AT THE END

Let me first start off by saying this game should not have been released without the "Early Access" tag as this game lacks extreme polish. However, with that said it is still a fun game, despite the obvious issues.

The game concept itself is not bad. Two teams consisting of four players of varying classes (meaning a team can be 1 of each character, or everyone charging in as the hammer wielding Scotsman) compete to steal the key off the sheriff, find the vault, steal the chest, bring it to the extraction point, and both teams fight to winch it to safety. Nothing is inherently wrong with this concept, the execution of which is the problem. I will attempt to go by aspect to aspect in my own experiences.

Stealth
General
Stealth itself is okay. The beginning of the match, stealth plays a role to allow the team to more efficiently acquire the key, and ultimately the chest. That being said, after the chest is stolen, the game is less about being stealthy and more about finding the chest, killing the other team, and taking the chest wherever you want. The NPC's at this point in time is pointless, because you are more afraid of the enemy team taking the chest and/or killing you rather than getting poked by them. So going slow and quiet when the enemy team has the chest only hurts your team in most cases, as they can get the favorable winch spot to them.

Assassinations
This is a subcategory of stealth, as an assassination can be executed on anyone if you are behind them, besides the sheriff who cannot be assassinated. When I say "anyone," I mean anyone. You could be fighting a Tooke one on one, and he can maneuver behind you and "assassinate" you and kill you instantly. There is nothing you can do, any character can do this, and brings an unsatisfying end to combat. This has caused a meta where PvP combat is mostly who can pull of the assassination, and not who is more skilled at the actual combat mechanics (more on that later). Assassinations CAN be stopped, but only if the assassin is killed. Under very specific circumstances can the person be saved. This is a rare occasion though, due to the assassination animation of players being too fast to cancel.

Combat
Overall, the combat is very simplistic.
For melee characters: Left click is light attack, Right click is heavy attack, Space is to block. If timed correctly against attacks, your block can parry an attack to stagger the attacker (only works in melee).
For ranged characters: Left click is melee attack, Right Click is ADS (with left click being to charge the ranged attack, and letting go is to fire), Space to dodge.

The combat in this game is dominated by stamina. Usually, whoever loses stamina first loses.

Game is meant for console, rather than PC
General
While all aspects of the game are affected by this, combat itself is primarily affected. The game was coded for console, and then poorly ported over to PC. My evidence for this is the clunky attack animations locking you in place, the inclusion of a lock-on-target system by pressing F, and the fact that it seems that console players have better connection to the server. Some key binds cant be changed since the devs want to keep it fair to console players.

Clunky Attacks
When you make an attack, you are stuck in that animation until the animation is finished. This makes it feel clunky, but that's not the main issue. You are also locked in direction as well. Sometimes the game will queue attacks, causing you to get stuck in the attack animation again even if you hadn't pressed any key after the first animation finished.

Lock On Button
While not inherently bad, this system being available to PC players not using a controller is bad for the game. This can be used to counter act the clunky attack animations described before, but allows Marianne to pull of a nasty combo. Marianne has a arm crossbow that has the ability to one-shot headshot at close range. Pair this with her perk that allows her to quick fire this crossbow, she becomes almost impossible to counter (unless you are a melee character using block, but that leads you vulnerable to an assassination from behind) since she can lock onto your head. (Also on PC, there is aim assist that sometimes decides to activate)

Server Issues
I'll be blatant, the servers are garbage. You will get a good server when a game seems relatively fair, but that is uncommon. Most often than not, a server will be in poor state, causing people to teleport. This isn't just my internet, as my friends playing with me experience the same thing on the same servers when we play together. This is not to mention the desync seen between console players and PC players, where an unfair advantage is placed on the console side. Attack animations will go through enemies, while they are able to hit you from miles away (Ranged characters also suffer). This occurs mostly when against console players, while with PC players it is more dependent on overall server health.

Characters
I will make this brief because I'm running out of space.

John is the most under powered character, as every other character can out range him (even the other melee character). His attacks all take a while to launch (and are very obvious), his heavy attack stuns him longer than his victim, and he is VERY susceptible to being assassinated. His ability allows him to have infinite stamina and take less damage (has a long animation) but he can still get assassinated.

Robin is also under powered, as he heavily relies on open spaces to be useful (unless you want to sacrifice his bow in order to be able to punch harder, which takes away from his character identity). Most maps are too small or have too many rooms/closed spaces for him to be useful.

Tooke is a better melee character than John, and Tooke is supposed to be a support class. His melee is longer than John's, as he uses a flail, and is also faster than John's attacks as well (his heavy is faster than John's light). His melee also DRAINS ALL stamina, making John's block useless. His ability tags everyone around him, fully heals himself and his team instantly. His equipment can drain stamina of anyone inside the gas radius of the grenade (which can be upgraded to not affect your team, heal your team instead, or increase the stamina drain).

Marianne is stupidly over powered. While her melee is okay, her ranged crossbow is broken. She has a perk that allows her to fire this short-medium ranged bolt almost instantly. This crossbow has the ability to one shot most characters and can be fired in very quick succession. This allows her to DOMINATE any character. Instead of a block, she has a dodge like Robin. Pair this with her quick fire crossbow, and she is unkillable when controlled by a competent person. She can also assassinate easier than other characters, as she has a faster crouched speed and her ability makes this even easier. She is the "tryhard" class, and overall ruins the game in her current state.

Conclusion and TLDR
This game is fun, even despite it's glaring issues. The developers also rely too heavily on data, rather than listening to their player base, causing updates (such as the one that came out today) to not reflect their playerbase. This game should have been released under early access, as the game lacks polish. Hopefully the game doesn't die on PC in a few weeks, because the current state of the game it will.

TL:DR
This game was poorly ported over to PC, too many server issues and desync to console players, character unbalance is real, and assassinations need a rework. Overall the game is fun to play with friends, and has a nice competitive atmosphere, but it needs major rework.

EDIT: Not worth it. The Devs didn't fix anything, and the game died because of it. I wouldn't waste your money.

One of the best games by far that I have ever played. This was also my first game that I got on Steam. Back in 2012, this game was fairly new and I fairly young. My Brother would invite his friend over and we'd have a LAN party with this game. We'd play 'til the morning dawned. Since then, I have played this game on and off.

The replayability in this game has is ridiculous. After forcing my friends to buy the game (I also bought this game for a few of them), we beat the game after a couple weeks. We had an amazing world, and spent a lot of time making it to our standards. There was still a lot we could do, anything from the Angler quests or making specialized houses for each villager. Like making interesting traps using wires? Go crazy with the electrical system in Terraria. Even after you beat it on normal, you still have Expert mode to do it. With the recent news of a planned update coming out (the 4th major one since launch), they are adding a "Master" mode, to which my friends and I plan on trying out! Again and again, time after time, we find ourselves having the "Needing-to-play-Terraria-again itch". As I said before, easily my favorite game I have ever played.

This game is a perfect 10/10 fallen stars. The game means a lot to me, especially with all of the nostalgia of playing with my brother and his friend, to all the memories I have with my friends. This game is perfect, and I highly recommend to any person who enjoys sandboxes, tough battles, and good times grinding with the boys.

EDIT:
This game got one of the biggest updates it's had. 1.4 added so much more material (and a harder difficulty!) for my friends and I to get back into Terraria and play it one more go (at least). This game is still incredibly fun, and the soundtrack is iconic. Highly recommend this game for anyone wanting a fun experience, whether it's alone or with a few friends!

This game is fun for the whole family! Well, except for the little ones, like toddlers and such. But otherwise, fun for the whole family@
