If you're like me and have watched someone on YouTube play one of the old King's Field games, and had the itch for a game of the sort, then this game is perfect to scratch that. It has this nostalgic dungeon crawler feel, but with all the modernization to keep the gameplay smooth, only unfortunately it kept KF's secret wall mechanics, so you'll find yourself grinding your face against a wall, hoping for a hidden room.

The combat is a simple hit and move away, with a verity of worthwhile spells. The exploration feels worthwhile for when you find a weapon, and often terrifying thanks to the fear of the unknown and eerie atmosphere.
I urge to play the game without a guide/wiki.

The hack-and-slash action aspect of the game doesn't feel particularly fun or varied, and the 4th wall breaking meta narratives are not interesting, and come out to be more annoying than anything.

It's very short, no real replay value, the dodging never feels right, and the later bosses are a boring and repetitive hit and run away, this is probably not the anime style 2D H&S you're looking for.

Satisfying high paced style shooter, great atmosphere and style, but you'll have to be good at shooting while doing stunts else you will be spending too much time in slow-mo.
Game got better with time, updates added the bonus levels and rogue steel mode which are the best part of the game!

Now that I've finally played the game and experienced it for the first time, I can see what the hype was about.
This took me back, the joy of exploring, increasing my power slowly, unlocking new things with new abilities, but the highlight has to be the character interactions, between Kratos and his son, and rest of the npcs.
Truly one of the best games, and experiences I had in recent time, and bet I'll be waiting for Ragnarok to come to steam.

Wow.
I did not expect to get this attached to the characters of this game as much as I did, nor to hit me so hard with these feelings.
It just felt so... real
And like a certain line in the game: "This reality's real for me and that's all that matters."
This is one experience I'll never forget, nor ever get to experience for the first time ever again...

At first you'll be mad at the game because you die a lot, and that it's difficult and "not like dark souls"

But then you learn from your mistakes and realize you have to look for enemy movements, parry, dodge and counter moves in their appropriate ways, and it all falls on you to really get good.

One of the best games I ever played, no other games has combat system as smooth as this, love it.

This game is completely different from past Assassin's Creed games you may have come to know.

It takes a more 'generic RPG' approach, having stats, bosses, different weapons and armor, levels and skills, and with realism thrown out the window this time.
However is it made with many well made convenience mechanics that generally improve your quality of life.
Individual side quests, lesser bounties and contracts and multiple main questlines will get you to explore the whole greek world for hours.

Yes it's very different, but I think it's a great refreshment, and an experience that you can play however you want with very little restrictions. Definitely worth buying if you are eyeing this game during whatever sale there is that brought you here.

Early Access Review
Man, what can I say.

This is exactly the game I've been dreaming of making.
Fast paced gunplay with melee, energy attacks, dashing and pulse waves.

Great demo, I really hope to see a full game now that there's proper development, the combat experience this game offers is everything I've ever wanted!
