A dark lab, once inhabited by scientists, it is now the breeding nest for their creations, a city once big and prosperous is now lying silent, only the usual crows can be heard arguing over a dead body of an unfortunate soldier, who's chopper got downed by the Monolith. Nobody in these northern parts, excepting the monolith, mutants and the poor stalker who got too greedy and went into the Red Forest: zombies, no soul, no mind, only instincts and hatred towards everything which lives, not very different from them are the monolith, only that they ''allied themselves'' and praise the ''allmighty monolith'', but, to the south, there is a different life, people talk, laugh, cry, cheer, all of them are in a different factions which tries to reach the north first, so big is the desire, that they got themselves into a so-calles faction war which lasts for an year now, but everybody knows that just 5 people managed to get to the center, Fang- a technician, also a mule of sorts, Ghost- a master of stealth, Doctor- can heal virtually anyone and anything, Guide- knows a path towards anything and last but not least, Strelok- the mastermind behind it all, but he has now dissapeared, and he doesn't know that a misterious stalker is on his tail, apparently he got brainwashed, doesn't remember anything, what happened, who is he? You will have to find out, this game well deserves a 10/10 rating from me.

The Redux makes this game slightly less miserable than the original game. The mutant variations are gone, you have the ammo cap, some of the little secrets got removed and replaced with some others. The general feel of the game simply changed, just like Last Light is in a way slightly different. Not really my cup of tea, but I still play them because it's Metro :)
