Yea, leaving a negative review because the very concept of selling Rollback Netcode as an addition is insane. This should've been a free update. And what's worse, the rollback is bad...

Turns out it's a pretty good game. Who would've known

Now that the game is released, I can share a review. I like that time has been spent on fixing bugs, adjusting the balance, and providing better resolutions. However... some of these things had been addressed already with mods. There were talks of new models and textures, but there's literally nothing. It is the best way to experience the game, as it's hassle free, has some QoL improvements, but it still suffers from old design flaws. Such as your troops being hyper aggressive and rather annoying to micro-manage, no stats information, like 0. You have no idea how much HP, Armor, Damage or whatever a given unit has.

For me, it's a fun nostalgia trip, and replaying the campaign was quite enjoyable. But for others, it may be a disappointing experience, if they expect to see a more traditional RTS. Wait for a sale is my advice

There are some visual bugs from time to time. Luckily nothing major. The game is still as fun as it was all those years back. The campaign is very well designed and quite engaging. Really wish we got Impossible Creatures 2 one day, where you can combine up to 4 creatures and have even more control over what is modified, but I doubt that will ever happen given the gaming climate. Who knows tho, one day maybe

I must say, quite a wonderful entry in the Sherlock Holmes saga. The deduction board mini-game done very well, and was quite enjoyable, same with a large majority of the puzzles. I did stumble in some parts and had to refer to a guide, but that's down to my impatience if anything.

The graphics are dated, even by 2009 standards. Bad lip syncing and obviously rushed animation work at times. Very limited cast of voice actors is present and for some reason, Sherlock Holmes' voice work is of very low quality. Like his mic is significantly cheaper and was recorded somewhere else. The voice acting in SH: The case of the silver earrings had far, far better voice acting, and it was released 5 years earlier (2004)... Non the less, I do recommend this entry! The mystery is thrilling

As a point of advice, make sure to toggle to birds eye view in cases where you're stuck and can't find a hint. Sometimes points of interest are on the ground or ceiling, and are easy to miss

Fun mechanics wise. Presentation and content wise it's not that great. Not very well optimized either. SF6 runs butter smooth on my PC, yet this game has weird hiccups at times. Looking forward to the MVC:I and Beyond mod, as it aims to fix a lot of those issues. Worth a grab on discount regardless

Very pretty, but I can't say I'm the biggest fan of the gameplay. I like that you can re-spec at will, and the first 2 bosses were quite enjoyable. After that it's a mixed bag. I'm not a big fan of the movement, and how collision works. Speed is just a bar below what I'd like for it to feel smooth. The game would've really benefited from having some weak fodder enemies where you just try stuff out, instead of being purely a boss rush game. Despite that, I'm certain that people who enjoy this style of game will appreciate it. Worth a try when it's on sale

The game is sadly getting milked really hard... As others have mentioned, having music be gate-kept with another pay-all is bad, even more so when each version of a game has separate bundles, i.e. SF2 Champion Edition, a separate SF2 Turbo bundle Ultra SF2 bundle, which you have to purchase separately...

It's also really disappointing that outfit 3 for the base cast is not included, only for the DLC characters... At least you get their colors unlocked, would've been super annoying to have that gate-kept as well.

I like Aki though, that's as much as I can say

Ngl, the price is way too steep for what you're getting. But if it means supporting the eventual release of CvS 3 or SvC 2, I'm down to cough up the dough

Base game is amazing and I highly recommend it!

The online is full of cheaters. I just played it for about an hour, and in the course of that time, I got teleported to a random location and spawn killed along with a dozen other people. Very miserable experience sadly

If you want to play online, I urge you to create a private lobby for you and your friends
