How much ram is it using? I just did a quick test and the highest I could get it to use was not quite 200mb while broadcasting and 120 something when just playing a game using the steam overlay.

Have you tried https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3134-TIAL-4638 or maybe switching to or from the beta?

EDuke32's multiplayer is broken. Megaton will have multiplayer soon. The only thing that's really different about Megaton at the moment is the menu layout and design. It's worth getting for the expansion packs alone if you don't have them already.
