Ok firstly SMITE has a place in the moba community, let me start by saying i'm not a fan of dota 2 and haven`t gotten into league although i've played both i prefer shooters and very competitive ones like cs, pubg, and, r6. But SMITE has a great way of making you feel much more in control of your character (atleast for me) and aiming in it is feels much more at home (for a shooter like me)than with a top down view. Sure i wasn`t great at building items or pushing with my team at first so i decided to stay away from conquest to get the basics and i found it much more fun than other mobas. Soon i could que for any gamemode and feel confident. I must say it is much more fun with friends and if the godpack is on sale i would recomend buying it but even after i got the god pack the first god I purchased before hand I got to rank X before any other god. The community can be toxic but just remember they have a mute button for a reason. Their servers and matchmaking always feel pretty competitive and overall if you like csgo or even fortnite give this game a try bht dont jump into conquest right away and get bm'ed try out joust or arena( i recomend arena first and then joust) and i am sure you will have a great time.
