Steam Review: Sengoku Dynasty

Pros:

The game is incredibly fun.

The world feels expansive and immersive.

The atmosphere is captivating.

Combat is a highlight—intense and fluid, with mechanics reminiscent of Sekiro. (timing your parries, poise, etc)

Cons:

Performance Issues: The game runs poorly, even on decent hardware. With 16GB of RAM, 12GB of VRAM, and an i7-7700k, I get 12-25 FPS on average, regardless of settings, suggesting significant optimization issues.

Crashes: The crashes are severe—my monitor loses input entirely, forcing a hard restart. These crashes have also corrupted my GPU driver twice, requiring me to use DDU and reinstall drivers. I will not these crashes seem to happen almost exclusively when fast travelling or loading a save game.

System Stability: No other game I’ve played has caused such underlying issues with my PC that do not exist whilst playing other games.

Bugs: Frequent crashes have messed with game saves, leading to lost fast travel points and bugged out enemy or leader requirements in previously cleared areas.

Verdict:
The core gameplay is fantastic, but the technical issues make it hard to recommend in its current state. Proceed with caution, as these issues may vary depending on your specific hardware. That said, the developers seem engaged with the community, so there’s hope for improvements in future updates. so i do recommend it i guess in terms of it's actual gameplay but just not right now.

Early Access Review
only have about 5 hours as of right now (albiet that's 5 hours played in a single session) but this game is pretty good. basically rimworld + terraria, pretty great for it's price too tbh in comparison to what it'd be essentially competing against.

Game runs well performance wise. It freezes quite abit on Loading screens. so even more reason to be more careful in case you die without any sands to rewind.

Other than that it's a great game. my favourite of the 3 on PS2. I couldn't get a controller to work though so that's a downside for this game. but maybe mine is bugged who knows. i recommend this game if you like good retro ps2 games. it's fun and challenging at times.

So i've came back to this game. Beat it and completed the Croft Manor too. It's a great game takes abit of time to complete. However i did encounter a save bug on my first playthrough which made me stop and come back to this game on a rainy day. but this time around saves have worked flawlessly. so i've decided to edit my review.

Build your Own Gladiator School, Level them up, Give them Armour, Weapons and Throw them into the Arena to Earn More Money. But Be Careful if they Die, They're Gone Forever!

so Essentially it's "Swords & Sandals" and "Spartacus Legends" Hybrid

The Soundtracks are Pretty Damn Great and gets you Amped-up before a Fight, Literally Listening to them when i'm not even on the game because they're just so good.

i think just about Anyone would Enjoy this Game, nothing to dislike about it.

Mordhau: A 2000-Hour Odyssey of Men-Loving Billhook Swinger (Don't ask)

Ah, Mordhau, my beloved time sink, my virtual kingdom of Tesco-tastic tomfoolery and "AAAAAAA FOR GLORYYY AAAAAAAAA" repeatedly blissfully in my ear....mmmmmmm soothing!! With an impressive 2000 hours logged into this medieval mayhem, I stand before you as a seasoned warrior, a connoisseur of the billhook arts, and a reluctant harbinger of the game's demise.

let's address the elephant in the jousting arena: the state of the game. Some claim it's dead, others say it's dying, but to be honest even the departed can find solace in the absurdity in the most dead parts of this game. But let us not dwell on the impending doom of Mordhau, for there is still much mirth to be had. You'll encounter an eclectic mix of players, from Noobs who type sonnets in the chat, to the bard who play darude sandstorm and roughly 12 other songs exclusively till your brain rots, to the noob who wants coaching "alniob learn to me!! how do high attak + foot?", to the agile skirmish players who move like caffeinated ferrets. to the RP players (Scar is massive RP enjoyer. he can't get enough of it!!!) but Like a trolley dash through Tesco's labyrinthine aisles, you'll never quite know what surprises await you around the next corner 🫢

In conclusion, Mordhau is a time-sucking black hole that will make you question your life choices and consider meeting strangers behind Tesco for entirely inappropriate activities! If that sounds like your cup of tea, then jump in! Just remember to keep your expectations low (Really Low!) and your humour sharp.

Disclaimer: The author of this review does not take any responsibility for the loss of productivity, social life, or sanity that may occur as a result of actually playing Mordhau for 2000+ hours. Please game responsibly even if you can't figure out how to swing a virtual sword properly. Cheers!

Side Effects of Playing Mordhau:

Extreme Billhook Attachment Syndrome (EBAS) [MOSTLY EXCLUSIVE TO ME]: You may find yourself unable to resist the urge to carry a billhook around at all times, even in real life. Beware of accidentally hooking innocent bystanders or unsuspecting grocery items at Tesco.

Random Medieval Vocabulary Syndrome (RMVS): Suddenly, words like "wonned!!!," "gf close", "I LOVE MEN!" and "FT10?" will creep into your everyday speech, leading to confused looks from friends, family, and the occasional checkout cashier at Tesco. (he didn't wanna ft10 me)

Compulsive Shouting Disorder (CSD): A tendency to scream battle cries, insults, and random incoherent noises when encountering any form of conflict, be it on the virtual battlefield or during a heated argument over Tesco's pricing policy. (still didn't want to ft10 me 🤬)

Irregular Tea Consumption Syndrome (ITCS): Your desire for tea will become so intense that you'll start drinking it exclusively from medieval goblets. Be prepared for strange looks from your friends when you invite them over for a cuppa and serve it in a chalice stolen from your local monastery. if they complain it tastes suspiciously of pee look the other direction or point out the window.

Persistent "VoteKick Teammate" Reflex: (PVKR): Your subconscious mind may develop a reflex to boot teammates if they don't clutch or if you don't like them slightly or if they attempt to vote kick you.

Accidental Bed Moistening Syndrome (ABMS) OR more commonly known as - Accidental Bedtime Hydration (ABH): You.Pee.The.Bed.At.Night. (can confirm)

Remember, these side effects are purely fictional. If any real-life side effects occur, such as the above or sudden cravings for Tesco's finest delicacies, please seek immediate help.

So i've played this Game for just about 5 years and had Roughly 3.5k Hours between All Ports and Profile Accounts of this Game. I was in Clans, Comp, etc. Mordhau is about to release so decided i'd make this review.

Pros:
-Good Mod Content.
-Competitive.
-Addictive.
-Optimised. (Your nans dusty ass Laptop can play it tbh!)

Cons:
-Trash Talking/Toxic Community.
-Steep Learning Curve for Newbies.
-Makes you Pee the bed. (can confirm)
-Probably Dead Thanks to Mordhau Releasing.

Edit in 2022: Mordhau is now dying just like Chivalry 1 did due to Chivalry 2 being more noob friendly and less competitve inclined.
