Seems to be an emulation of the PSX version rather than the original PC release. Which, frankly, I'm fine with -- it maintains the look the game was intended to have, especially if you disable smoothing and enable the CRT filter. This is how the game is supposed to look and play.

That said, there are no real upgrades. It's just a 1:1 experience.

After years of patches, it's now one of the best looking, best playing, best written games in the triple-A tier.

The only game to play after watching a John Wick or kung fu film. A brawler won't get better than this.

Very funny, often meta, pays homage to a few classics, and the price is right.

Exactly what a remake should be. Loyal to the original, but updated for modern sensibilities. Looks great, but still retro. More intuitive, but doesn't hold your hand, maintaining the spirit of the original. If you like Bioshock or Prey (2017), this is the game they're based on. Worth a play.

It's a Paradox Grand Strategy Game, except you spend far less time on managing military and far more balancing your checkbook. The economic system is mostly spot on, but the rest of the game may leave players wanting. Fans of city builders like the Anno series should check it out.

Enough differences to make it distinct from Civ, and in many ways, improve on Civ. Worth a look for any 4X fans.
