It is not often that I write negative reviews for games with this level of potential.

However

This game was released in November.

With that said, it is with a heavy heart that I announce, if you've got any form of self-respect or dignity, give this game a pass.

I shall be refunding this game upon posting this.

Thank you for reading my review.

I have seen something on Tik Tok that I shouldn't have

God... I'm not sure if you will believe me. but I have to get this out. I don't think it matters at this point, but something inside me is screaming to tell this story. A story that, every time I close my eyes, I envision over and over. A story which infuriates and saddens me as I recall it. I suppose I've been planning on holding it in from the public, not wanting to make others scared to use the app which this happened to me on. I am probably going to die soon after all. However, I fear that if I don't warn you, you might end up with a fate just as horrible as my own. Thus, I think I owe it to you, my audience, to describe the details of such horrid events which will scarred me emotionally. Please, just listen, for I only have a few minutes to get this out.

I'm certain you have all heard of the app known as "Tik Tok". It is revolutionary, becoming one of the biggest social media companies in such little time. It is a place where anyone can go and lip sync to any song they want, and I am personally a huge fan of the app.

Now, when I say that I am a fan, I don't exactly mean it in the traditional sense of the word. You see, what I like to do is troll others online. I find tik tok videos that I deem cringy, and I do a duet with them. I often enjoy doing Fortnite dances or the famous "take the L dance" to people who think they're being lit on the app, when in reality they just appear to be total dweebs. My funniest video was a reaction to an African lady. Many of you might have seen this video before, but it's a video of a woman with tears staining her cheeks, pleading for food she so desperately needs. Maybe it was wrong to record a reaction video of myself sinking my teeth into a nice, warm, juicy chicken sandwich in front of where, but it was all just for fun. Nothing of consequence ever came out of it, so I continued to mock them online for their stupid habits of posting dumb videos on the internet. I mean come on, who posts a video of themselves on the internet and doesn't expect to get the piss taken out of them? That's just being oblivious.

I was sitting at home one night, listening to the wind howl outside the windows. The rain slammed against the sides of my house, and I tried flipping my laptop open in an attempt to distract myself from the incessant noise. I signed into my email account and noticed there was a new message. Curious, I clicked on it. The message hadn't come from any address I recognized. It read as follows.

"Hah, hey dude. I'm a huge fan of your Tik Tok account. You're really funny, and I find myself laughing a lot at you messing with those internet NERDS. Anyway, I made a few videos of me reacting to you reacting to other people. Isn't that funny! Well, I'll leave my username down below so you can check em out. Hope you enjoy!"

I won't leave the username in this post for reasons which will become obvious later. I chucked and opened my phone, readying the Tik Tok app. I was gonna have fun with this guy. I wanted to see how cringy his reactions were to me. I bet he was just copying my moves. Hell, maybe I could make a reaction to his duet. There were no limitations to how I could troll whoever this guy was, and it was that thought that blinded me from the ugly truth that would soon be apparent.

I found his account and watched his videos. Sure enough, there he was, reacting to one of mine. I couldn't see his face, as it was covered by some sort of old, creepy baby doll mask. He reacted to me dueting with a kid who was doing one of those "Bad Boy" challenges, and when I started doing the "L Dance" he did as well. I laughed a bit, thinking it was pretty funny. I then moved onto the next video, where thing suddenly became a bit more disturbing.

He stood in a dark room, watching another video of me. This time, he didn't move. He just... stared into the camera, watching me. This was extremely disconcerting, and when the video ended, a sense of dread overcame me. Who was this man, and what did he want? I moved onto the next video, desperate to find out.

There he was, reacting to my video as usual. However, he wasn't... looking at the camera. There was now a table on the room, and on it sat a knife. He wiped it with a white cloth, and then proceeded to sharpen the blade. My eyes widened as he looked up at the camera and wagged the weapon around in the air. He then placed a finger over where the lips were on the baby mask, and the video abruptly ended.

There were only two videos left, and my curiosity had peaked. Summoning all the courage within me, I clicked the second to last video. The setting was extremely dark, and it was no longer a duet video. I listened closely, and heard what sounded like the crunching of twigs and the rustling of leaves. I squinted at the video, trying to discern where he was. I simply couldn't, and soon the sound of wind and rain overcame any audio within the video.

The final post was apparently uploaded a few minutes ago, and within it contained the most disturbing thing imaginable. There was more and more rustling, and the rain grew more persistent. I watched in terror as his camera found itself focused on what appeared to be a house in the distance, illuminated by its porch light. He pointed his knife straight ahead at it, and I could hear what sounded like laughter originating from the camera operator.

I knew who's house that was. The shape, the lighting, the surrounding area. Yes, it was very clear to me. It was... my house. I type this in a hurry to you, warning you about this experience I have had. I don't know how much time I have left to be honest. I have contacted the authorities, but I fear they will be too late. I can hear something scratching at the door. It sounds like... like a blade running along the wooden exterior of the house. I have to go soon, but please heed my warning. Please be careful of your online presence, because there are those out there who have the means to hurt you. Oh god... I my tears are dripping onto the keyboard now. I don't want to die, but I fear it may be too late for you.

Be wary of what you do and who you meet. Be careful and vigilant, and don't make the mistakes I have ma-

I just heard a window shatter. I have to go now, if you don't hear from me again, you know why.

This game saved my life.

I am 27.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiraling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand... my working hand... my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide.

After learning of the severity of my self-inflicted damage, I was borderline suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man with no history of depression or anxiety. I have never had fits of rage, or been one to break down and cry, but I was in a low spot that just really buried me from being able to see the light on the other side.

Having nothing better to do, I searched for a game I could play, ONE HANDED while I recovered. I somehow stumbled upon this game and read some of the reviews. I decided that it had to be worth a shot... I must admit, I didn't beat the game, or play nearly as long as some of you. In fact, I may have only played this game a day or two.. With that being said, after doing so, I had a new found joy and hope for life. I was able to put behind me the pain and suffering that had been cast over me. I was able to experience other peoples joy and happiness. I was able to see the fruits of my "labor". I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ing minutes to this music long enough to realize that I was going to be okay.

After coming to that realization, I turned the game off, and I went back to work. It hurt my hand like hell but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so damn sorry for myself, and I became the father I needed to be in that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving as.

Today, I am close friend with my kids mother. We don't fight, or argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents, and friends.

I now have 3 kids. My third child is, wait for it, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my own separation, and we just stumbled in to each others life unexpectedly. We have been in a relationship for a year now, and are very happy together.

Moral of the story, you never know what life holds in store for you, and if I would have given up when all the odds were stacked against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Thank you.

I decided to buy The Witcher 1, 2, and 3 on sale, to play 1 and 2 before 3, so I'd be well prepared for The Witcher 3. I wanted to know the lore, and characters, and I didn't really expect much from this game.

After having this game in my library for a while without really touching it, I decided to give it a go. And oh my, what a go I gave it.

I'd recommend this game at its full price, let alone for $2, which is about how cheap it goes when it's on sale nowadays. It's an absolute steal, and this game is absolutely amazing.

When I first tried the game out, I was put off by its combat mechanics. However, once you get used to the combat, and learn how to properly use the signs, potions, how to switch between combat styles, and all the rest, it actually becomes really fun and engaging in its own way.

I did get lag spikes on occasion, even on lower than default resolution, on low settings. Granted, my laptop isn't the best (specs on my profile), but I wouldn't expect lag spikes from a game this old, considering how I run games that are more graphically demanding than this smoothly.

Aside from lag spikes, I have encountered a bug or two, which led me to load back to previous saves. However, that's to be expected from a game as old as this. Also the loading screens might be a pain in the ass for someone coming from more modern titles, such as The Witcher 3, but you'll get used to them.

My only real complaint is that, even from the very start of the game, the game would crash at unexpected moments, giving no warning/error. Because of that, I had to quick save whenever I remembered to, which was annoying, and ruined the immersion at times. The auto-save system wasn't always great either.

The decisions you make do impact the game. I'm not sure if they impact the very ending of the game, however they do make a big difference on how the game plays out. I've only played the game once, so I can't say much about this reliably, however I'm guessing that the journey is completely different depending on the path you take in the game. It's about the journey, not the destination (although the destination is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ noteworthy too).

This game is usually finished in about 40 hours worth of gameplay. I've got 70 hours clocked in, however I'd say about 10 of those hours are me accidentally leaving the game open, and another few from replaying the first part of the game a few times (whether its due to my game crashing without me saving, or me returning to the game after months and wanting to redo the intro). It's definitely worth the money for what you get.

There's a twist at the end of the game, which blew my mind, along with many others from what I've read on forums.

I'd recommend avoiding all spoilers for this game, as its story is in fact really engaging, despite its age. I'd definitely give it a go. You probably won't regret it.

Early Access Review
After blood, sweat, tears and countless hours spent improving my technique, I can safely say that Brawlhalla is not a game for the weak-hearted. From toxic people to unfair matchmaking, this game can really make you rethink your life choices. However, once you break through that barrier, you will begin having lots of fun.

I have quit this game out of rage and joined back more times than I can remember. Once you learn to deal with the toxic community, and once you become a better player, this is a game that you will definitely enjoy. Especially with a friend.

This can be a very casual game, however, ranked mode is where it gets competitive. Only go in ranked if you want a challenge; and if you do... get ready to rage.

In-game-purchases are optional, and do not affect gameplay. Every game-altering purchase can be bought with free in-game currency. You'd only spend real money on cosmetics/shortcuts.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend. Just know what's waiting for you, and bring a friend along with you.

TL;DR: Check bottom of review.
---------------

Do I recommend this game? Definitely. Life is Strange is like no other game that I've played in the past. It has a 'telltale games' vibe to it, but at the same manages to maintain its own style, and has its own way of being original.

In this game, every choice you make matters. And I mean EVERY choice. Throughout the game you must make choices, either through dialogue or through action, that will affect the game (in the same episode, or even later episodes). Most of the time you don't even know how important the choice you're making really is.

The developers did an amazing job paying attention to details.
Minor Spoiler:
When you go far back in time for the first time, you have the option to draw something in the kitchen. Later on in that episode, when you travel back, the drawing is still there, but looks older.
I spent a good amount of time exploring the maps before continuing with the story, and it was great. I personally love exploration, and this game gives you some.

The voice acting is outstanding. They sound really convincing, and occasionally you get so immersed that you even forget that you're playing a game. I really felt connected to them, and this is one of the few games that ever made me feel emotionally attached to it. Whenever something tragic happened, my jaw dropped. Whenever something good happened, I smiled, and so on.

The soundtrack is absolutely amazing. The developers really excelled at setting the scene atmospheres with the soundtrack. It's also the type of music that many would listen to even when they're not playing the game. Also I love the game's humor. It didn't feel forced, and actually made me laugh at times.

Needless to say, the game has different endings depending on what choices you make. I'm only aware of two possible endings, and the one that I chose really gave me the feels. I felt like someone was cutting onions next to me.
MAJOR SPOILER:
I personally chose the ending in which you save Chloe, and sacrifice the town, and I was satisfied with it. I feel like Max really bonded with Chloe, and sacrificing her would've ruined it all.
Replayability is great, as you can always replay the game and try out all the other choices you could've picked. So this game is worth plenty of hours if played to the fullest.

Character progression is great, and very noticable. You get to see Max evolve from a shy girl that doesn't really have friends, to a young, brave and mostly wise woman that's all about helping others. Throughout the game you also notice Max and Chloe's bond strengthening, and they remain best friends despite the fact that they haven't seen each other in 5 years.

I came in the game with no expectations, having heard nothing about this game before. I didn't know what to expect. The story really surprised me. It was great, I absolutely loved it. There were certain twists which I won't mention in this review, but for those of you coming in without knowing what to expect; you'll be surprised.

I don't have the most powerful laptop, but on low settings I achieved playable fps throughout the game. Sometimes dipping into 15 fps, however I usually had above 30 fps constant. And even though my game was on low settings, the graphics still looked amazing, especially the lighting.

---------------
TL;DR:
An outstanding game. Amazing voice acting, soundtrack, story, graphics and more. I give it a 9.5/10. While not without its flaws, this game is a must-have. It's more than a game - it's an experience. I got it on sale, but I think it's worth the full price.

Sorry if the review is all over the place, I just wanted to type this right after finishing the game, and I don't usually write reviews. Hopefully it was understandable though, and hopefully I convinced someone to buy this excellent game.

After finishing the game in almost 4 hours, I must say, this game is good AMAZING.

I recommend it to anyone that wants an amazing story that will immerse you into the game, and make you feel like you're actually in it yourself. The gameplay is amazing, and so are the graphics.

Once I finished the game I couldn't stop thinking about it for some time. Buy it now.
