One of the best and most memorable games I've played on steam. From its lovable characters to its music and charming aesthetics. Few games have that wow moment from the get go and maintains this for the entire playthrough. This is one of the few. The gameplay may be challenging for some, especially for those that struggle with rhythm games, but I personally found the curve well paced and just a whole lot of fun. By the end of the game, I was pulling off insanely flashy combos by muscle memory and music pace alone. It's incredibly satisfying to play from start to finish.

The art style and music of this game is amazing, and the story had hooked me in initially, but quickly lost my interest. Very quickly... seeing as how I got about 4 hours of gameplay in one run. Though the branching paths might suggest replayability, I just dont feel any need or want to go through it again.

Gameplay is interesting, but tedious. The game is divided into mini game sections that draw themselves out for too long without really introducing new mechanics. Dialogue is adequite, but lacking in personality (also has typos and bad grammar at times, but that can be fixed).

My biggest gripe is perhaps the story itself. I was meticulous: exploring all avenues and heavily considering each decision and the ramifications of heavy topics that were shoved in my face (which added to gameplay time), but the end of the game undermines all of that effort by tossing out all the results of your findings and shoving a monologue into your face. It of course does a short recap of choices you made, but does nothing to follow up on it. Typical. Plot twist was forced and made little sense. Disappointing. Perhaps there was another ending, or some secret scene, but honestly, I don't want to go play more of the game.

I really wanted to love this.
Something that could perhaps be on par with VA-11 Hall-A.
Sadly, no.

I'll still revisit some of the game's soundtrack. Music gets a thumbs up.

One of the better Choice Of games in their lineup, but not without its flaws. Definitely no Choice of Robots or Heroes Rise, but definitely worth a read through if you're a fan of these types of games. Being a fan of cats helps a lot too.

The good is in the writing's humor. I found myself laughing out loud a few times from delivery alone. The author does a great job at weaving complex stories and monologues into everyday feline antics, providing a different perspective into human way of life that gets you feeling like you're actually in the head of a freshly introduced housecat.

However, the story does end up dragging on in the later chapters, straight up to its sudden ending. There wasn't any sort of conclusion to be had save for an awkward recapping of your statistics and choices, which left me disappointed. There are different paths, scenes, and achievements to find in replays, but ugh... the lack of closure hurts me.

As for the stat-based gameplay aspect, I've found to be... not great. There were far too many to keep track of and the way they affect choices and how the choices affect them were unclear. Does sitting still check your comfort/fun-loving, feral/domestication, or audacity/caution? Perhaps obeying makes it check loyalty instead? What about your jumping ability? For better or worse, the writing does weave failure and success of the stat-checks quite well into the narrative and it's difficult to tell sometimes if there had even been one at all or if it had even mattered. I'd chalk that up to good storytelling, but it may irk some readers.

My advice is to just play through the story (at least once) without worrying too much about the inner workings. Or if you insist on min-maxing, choose the options that portray the cat that you want to be, as they tend to be fairly consistent: how active you are, how selfish, or how loving, etc. Whatever you choose to do, the story won't fault you for it. And hey, even if you're all over the board, you'll be all the more cat-like in your unpredictability.

Not bad. Solid pick, but not the best.

Bad. Bad and terrible. Terrible and bad. Stop being fooled by Molyneux.

Everything about the game is flawed in design. Made to be boring, or so it seems. It could have been good. It had the potential to be. Perhaps they'll actually make it fun come release, but... I highly doubt it. They'd need to return to the game's core and rework nearly everything about it. The concept was promising, but the execution and design was terrible.

Do not buy. Not now.
Possibly not ever.
