the same thing is happening to me since this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ update was released, I hope they fix it soon, I have to reopen the game all the time, it has even crashed in the middle of the game while carrying the dossier hahahaha

@Trainuk Welp nvm all that, because evidently Valve ♥♥♥♥ the bed again and with the extra later summer cosmetics update, and the game now immediately crashes on loading maps again. I hadn't played that update yet until just now. Or rather tried to, since it's broken again.

@Trainuk I was getting that crash when playing on the initial 64 bit update (day 1 or day 2 iirc). I came back about 5 days later and Valve had released 2 hotfixes by that time, which must have fixed the problem for me, since that loading crash hasn't happened since then. I had read the notes on those two updates and neither mentioned anything about a map loading crash. Presumably Valve failed to test it as well, and by coincidence they first broke it and then by coincident later fixed it, which is quite typical for Valve. That's all I know about it. Sorry.

Hey man, i was reading the comments on the tf2 64bit update and noticed your comment about crashing when loading into maps. Its happening to me and wondered if you perhaps found a fix at all?

hey TiberiumFusion are you going to do some more character from the mw3 campaign? because some of the characters are missing like the chemical agents,commando troops,russian navy,czech militia,us tankers and the rangers also some of the gears of the russians.if you don't want to do all of that that's fine.and it would problably take 1 or 2 years for you to finish it

@nothingclick I've have a bunch of black ops 2 pms half finished but haven't worked on them in over a year. Dunno when the time will be right to finish those. It's over a hundred hours to do a whole set. If/when those are finished I'll probably do mw2 next. Then maybe ghosts or black ops 1, if I get that far. Don't count on it.

Do you plan on porting the models from other cod games? It'd be nice to see some BO1 MP playermodels with c_hands.

@Sub-Zero Valve can only "remove the old steam UI" if you allow them to. Simply refuse to install steam updates - now it is impossible for Valve to remove the old steam UI from your computer. You can apply this logic to everything in life, btw. People can only take things away from you when you allow them to. The larger problem we face is the possible loss of the services provided by Valve. Steam friends and chat depends on a remote service provided by Valve. If Valve destroys this service and replaces it with a different one, then we are left with four choices: 1) find a different service to use, 2) recreate the destroyed service ourselves, 3) bend over and take it from Valve and install the steam update that knows how to communicate with the new service, 4) create our own client that knows how to communicate with the new Valve service. Choice #4 is how my FriendsUI patch works. It is the best choice, because Valve can never take away that choice from you or me.

Update 25.11.2023: It looks like the old steam chat still working nicely and wondering how long it will last. Again, many thanks to your guide Tiberium. But I wonder how long Valve will fully remove the old steam UI.

Hello Tiberium Fusion, iam a fellow 23 year old gamer who has supported and used this platform since I was 9 years old. I was incredibly sad to see the release of the dramatic new UI change and the friends list no longer working with older steam UI clients. I want just wanted to personally thank you on behalf of the community for what you’ve done. I followed your guide tonight and everything works like a charm with my steam 2010 Vgui overlay with friends too working online! You’re awesome and have probably saved Christmas for me! Thank you once again

@Sub-Zero If you explore the payload folder in the patch files, you will find a sound folder with some m4as in it. Ignore the (2) duplicates, those are mistakes and will be removed in a later update. You can replace these files to get different sounds if you like.

Do you have any capabilities to use custom sounds for the client? I was wondering to use the OG steam message sound, cuz asthetically it's pleasant to hear.

@GoodFishMan Do not extract files from my addons and include them in your addons. Instead, set your addon to require users to subscribe to my addons first, or use an addon collection.
