What if you combine Armored Core combat, Dark Souls exploration and storytelling, blame-esque megastructure, and cute anime girls?
You get Dolls Nest.

The combat is very much like Armored Core with limited ammo, limited healing items, two primary weapons, and two larger rear weapons. As well as a bunch of different mobility options and utility modules you can choose.
The exploration is very much like the first Dark Souls, with very interconnected world design (although separated to 3–4 sections) with ''doesn't open from this side'' -shortcut doors and warps that most of the time bring you back to the ''bonfire'' of this game to resupply before you head back out.
As well as NPC questlines with multiple endings and different rewards depending on the outcome, encouraging multiple playthroughs.
Music is also mostly limited to boss battles, so you get ambient sounds most of the time.
NG+ exists, but it doesn't appear to change in difficulty. You can also find an NG+ exclusive key item early on that lets you access late game areas earlier than in your first run.

Some negatives I must mention are questionable weapon balance (too weak) when it comes to several weapons and some bugs, although the most egregious bugs should be wiped out by now.

Depending on skill and completionism level, one should expect to sink in about 20 up to 70~ hours to the game.
Personally, I'm a fan of mecha musume's and soulslikes, so this is right up my alley.
So, despite some jank it has, I would very much recommend it.

Stay far, far away from this steaming turdpile. Devteam takes forever to implement the most miniscule of improvements yet takes no time at all to implement changes that make the experience worse.

It's okay and has submarines but it's unpolished, has no support and very small playerbase.
