I don't remember how it started (I think I just got curious about how he spawns), but I reverse engineered the code to determine how he spawns. As far as I know/remember no one else had taken a closer look before I started looking into it because the 5% spawn chance myth had just sort of become accepted as fact. Though I wouldn't be surprised if some forgotten hero had discovered the actual formula days after L4D2 released.

Was about to ask how the Jimmy Gibbs spawning information & formula was all figured out, but five thousand L4D2 hours is no joke
