The fact that this game is an MMO holds it back from being fun in the long run.


Grind - the grind in the game gets old pretty fast no matter what activity you are doing. Want more money after completing all quests? Go grind freetem. Want to breed a temtem to use in PvP or dojo rematches (since they don't scale to 50 SV or max level in them)? Go grind capturing temtems for 50 SVs and/or money for DNA strands or trading.

Animations - you can never turn off battle animations and it is highly unlikely that you will ever be able to, the reason for this is how much extra time could be saved when people are hunting for 50 SV temtems or lumas which would cause price drops in trading.

Constant Internet Connection - you always need to be connected to the internet to play this game because of the fact that it's an MMO, so if you have a poor internet connection or have your internet cut out frequently then you can't play the game.

Fast Travel - you get the ability to fast travel after doing a side quest that you get on the fifth island of the game and then have to backtrack to everywhere you have been to register the fast travel points. On top of that, unless you are travelling to the airship locations or player house, it costs 500 pansuns to use rather than being free across the board.

Lairs - cool concept on paper but unless you have friends you are relying on 4 randoms and even then it's still partially RNG dependent to what your team looks like when you face the boss at the end.

Bans - this hasn't happened to me but all you have to do is check out other reviews and complaints to see that the game has a problem with false flagging people for cheating and after you are banned then you have just straight up wasted CDN$ 45.49, the game has no singleplayer component and probably never will so you literally can't do anything but appeal your ban and hope it is reversed.


This game really shouldn't be forced MMO, it just causes pretty stupid decisions to be made design wise, the only interactions you are going to have with other players when playing are seeing them run around the place while you do the same. That's all that multiplayer provides until you reach the end of following quest chains and want to trade, do lairs or PvP. I only managed to get 100+ hours by watching shows on Netflix and focusing on that while grinding since it was pretty boring gameplay. The game had good ideas and was fun going down the main quest, until around the third island, but it honestly gets really repetitive and burns out pretty fast at that point.

Not that fun, any outfits that are unlocked are paywalled even though you need to play the game to even access the ability to buy them. Main gameplay loop is essentially just Pacify but worse.

Filled with bugs, ATV should not be a separate DLC due to how necessary it feels to travel around the map, the game really hates it if you have two monitors of different sizes it feels like too

My character got stuck at a point, went to reload save to see if it put me at the beginning of that section instead had to do the chapter from the start
