A masterpiece of its genre!

I'm particularly a fan of how they managed to give the player a story-related reason for doing multiple runs. Unlike other games that you finish multiple times out of challenge and perks, Hades manages to organically pull you in for more out of curiosity and story development, which is way more appealing to me!
Gameplay is fluid, responsive and deep, music is stellar and immersive, art is nop notch with the same staple SuperGiant touch.

A 10/10 must play game!

Ok I'll try to break this one down as there is currently a huge divide in the SoulsBorne community about this game:

- "I am a literal god at all the DS and BB games and platinumed them all, will I be able to breeze through it?"
Honestly, I don't think so. It definitely feels like a FromSoftware game but it is unlike any of the previous ones. You have to learn how the game should be played from scratch as 90% of your DS and BB skills are not transferable to this one. (Trying to keep it spoiler free here)

- "Huh? What's so different about it?"
Well you see, If you go in expecting your invincibility framed rolls to carry you through the game , you will be hugely shocked at how ineffective it is. Parry is the name of the game. In fact, when you master fighting a boss, you will feel that the game has more in common with rythm based games (like Thumper) than previous titles. At least, that's how I feel so far.

- "I see. What else is so different?"
Oh let me list some: Sense of verticality with jumping, stealth mechanics, switching between protestic arm utilities, skill trees, resurrection mechanic, EXP and Money features that work differently from souls mechanics and many more!

- "Oh wow, that's indeed quite different. Any tips you can give so far?"
I'd say be very very patient and be ready to sit down and learn every little thing the game has to offer. Don't expect running in and R1'ing down all your foes with your sword will be enough. You have a tons of tools in your arsenal (Parry, jump, dodge, prostetic arm, skill trees, consumables) and the game is designed around you using said tools. Also keep in mind, stealth is an INTEGRAL part of the game.

- "Finally, to whom would you recommend the game?"
To anyone looking for a challenging experience. If you are SoulsBorne veteran, just put your vet ego on the side and treat this one as a separate title from a separate studio. By itself, it's a beautiful, deep and very intense experience.

They did it. The madlads went and did it. They finally surpassed DMC3 as the best one in the series. This is without a doubt the best fun I ever had with a hack and slash game. Congrats on the sublime job Capcom!

10/10 ! A must buy!

I played this game back in 2014 and thought it had potential but a long way to go before it would be interesting enough.
Well, 4 years later and with the release of Fortuna I thought "Hey, that looks cool! Time to check it out again". And boy oh boy did they polished the crap out of it! This game is, hands down, the best F2P game out there. Honestly, it oozes content and just enough complexity and intrigue to keep you coming back for more! The only gripe I still have with it is how non-newbie friendly it is as it ABSOLUTELY doesn't hold your hand in explaining 90% of the game's mechanics. It doesn't help that it also looks heavily P2W at "first glance". I use that term between quotes because, on the surface, almost everything is under a platinum tag. Now maybe that is by design but honestly it is potentially the biggest turn-off for newcomers. The alternative blueprint system is so counter-intuitive that it leaves the impression that almost nothing is obtainable without platinum, which is the premium in-game currency. I HIGHLY recommend any player considering playing the game to prioritize joining a clan! This game has one of the best gaming communities that are more than willing to help out newcomers through this content heavy game.

They don't make games like this anymore. Amazing, challenging and rewarding experience.

So a friend of mine pitched this game to me based on the fact that I liked Hyper Light Drifter. I did not check anything about it not even the trailer so I just bought it and went in blind. Boy was I in for a surprise:

- Badass protagonist? ✓
- Intriguing story? ✓
- Beautiful scenery? ✓
- No useless in-between bosses filler time/trash mobs? ✓
- Challenging fights? ✓✓
- Amazing fight scenes with badass bosses? ✓✓✓
- OUTSTANDING MUSIC!!!!!! ✓✓✓✓✓

Honestly this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing! This is what you get when you marry Hyper Light Drifter with Samurai Jack/Samurai Shamploo vibes. It is a non-stop action packed game that goes straight to the point, which is YOU vs BOSSES. Period.

Worth to point that I only beat 6 bosses so far and I did not finish the game yet so not sure about the quality of the story and its reveals. Still, the intrigue is definitely there!

The only negative thing I experienced so far is the hitbox of the deflect ability against projectiles in certain angles/positions as it lacks accuracy in my opinion. I would not mind it that much but some fights are really designed around it, which should make it more reliable.

This game is a 9.5/10 in my book. BUY IT!!!!

It does not matter if you are DOOM fan or not, this game is an incredibly good fps experience.
Action packed, fast paced, very very challenging (on higher difficulties) and, my personal favorite, free of any unecessary cutscenes.
Runs like a dream on Ultra ( i7 2600k, 12 gig ram, GTX980).
10/10 would recommend to any fps fan!
