Alright, this 'collab' is what forced my hand to voice opinions here.

Sony. Arrowhead. Whatever entity is currently in charge of deciding prices... why? You came from the Game Awards feeling good, maybe even great. The Illuminate faction was finally introduced to the game. Players were having their mettle tested after fighting 2 other factions with a heavy anti-armor focus. Heck I'm still struggling to find viable loadouts for the Squids. And along with this you release the first Warbond with an actual melee weapon, and some really nice armor and stratagems. And the FRV! Wow, something to get across the map that isnt my legs or Liftpack. Things were good, perhaps great.

But what in democracy is this!?

1,975SC for a paltry 5 items? On a rotation? A rifle being a side-grade, yet upgrade, to the default Liberator. And an armor set that slashes all elemental damage in half!? On. A. Rotation? Not in a Warbond, where most weapons come from?

You had it made! Helldivers 2 was at its best after the 60-day plan whatever. Guns overall felt good. Armor still isn't armor. Stratagems had never felt like more powerful game-changing tools than ever before. And again! You guys won at the Game Awards, and I think regardless if you won or not, it made for a great platform to announce the Illuminate. And then you go and pull this Fatshark-brand level ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with your rotating store that now features actual equipment and not just cosmetics. Let alone, a cosmetic with a mildly powerful all-round effect, and, astoundingly, a gun that costs more than half the price of a standard, 1,000 Super Credit Warbond.

I want to add more to this review, but it'll go from an opinion to a targeted question at a specific developer who has been vocal about this. "Figuring it out as we go along" buddy you had all of February up until now to figure it out. Get the Sony worm out of you before it matures into a Tencent worm. Please.

I don't really have anything clever to write in here to be honest. On launch I gave this game a Negative review because it wasn't like the first game. Then I kept playing it. Then I kept playing it. Then I kept playing it.

And about a year later, I beat it on Apocalypse difficulty, then beat it on a Hardcore Veteran character.

I will at least advocate this; the game is good, perhaps great. If you've looked at it, then thought to yourself "oh geez, it looks fun but I dun knowwww", then just wait til its discounted. Doesn't matter what the discount price is; if you can pick up the game and all its DLC for even $40, it's worth it. Bring a friend if you can, maybe two.

Sometimes I wonder if I bought a soundtrack, a game, or a real good audiobook (purchase pending).
