Very short game, though the puzzles can be a bit hard at times.

Lots of miss-able achievements though, some of them are downright weird, not something you'd normally think of doing in such a game, but the game is fun and funny, and just downright great to play.

Might actually go back at some point to pick up the missing achievements.

Had a blast playing it, recommended if you're a point & click adventure fan.

State of Mind, well, technically took me 4 years to finish it LOL, I started playing the game back in 2021, for whatever reason, which I honestly can't remember, stopped in the middle, despite enjoying it at the time.

I recently remembered it and went back to finish it, the game got a very good, very interesting story that I loved a lot, the controls can be a bit wonky at times though, the graphic style is unique and very interesting to look at, and overall Daedalic created a great game back in 2018 that I just happend to finish for the first time in 2025.

If you're into adventure games, and more importantly, story driven adventures where your choices actually matters, you would choose well to try this game, it might not be a masterpiece but it's definitely worth playing.

Duke Grabowsky, Mighty Swashbuckler Review

A short, cute and funny point and click adventure gem, reminiscence of old school Monkey Island style games

I bought this game cheap, can't even remember exactly when or whether it was directly from steam or a 3rd party store, doesn't really matter, I went in without too much expectations but a little bit of hope, and I wasn't disappointed.

Duke Grabowsky, Mighty Swashbuckler is a fun, yet extremely short and not very difficult classic point & click adventure game, the controls are so simple it really reminds me of the original Monkey Island games or even Simon The Sorcerer, the game is fun to play, the voice acting is very well made and the game made me chuckle and even laught at a few occasions.

The graphic style is nothing special, it's modern enough to look good and toy-ish enough to fit the story, which is from the get-go not a very serious one, the game doesn't take itself too seriously and that's a good thing, it comes off as a lightheaded, comically fun pirate adventure.

I won't say too much about the story or the characters themself so not to give any spoilers, but I really enjoyed the game, even though I finished it in under 2 hours overall playtime, including all achievements.

Overall, I definitely recommend this game for those who loves the classic point & click adventure, and want a good chuckle while they play, 7/10 from me.

It's Fallout: New Vegas, do I really need to spell it out, if you're a Fallout fan, Play it! that's it.

Great game, buggy at times, but great, and even greater with mods.

Monolith is a real hidden gem in the Point & Click genre, I did not expect too much going in to play it, but the game's story is absolutely great, the voice acting near perfect, characters are believable and relateable.

The game's graphics might not be the most modern looking, but that also what gives it that captivating classic feel, it gave me flashbacks to playing my all times favorite point & click adventure game, way back in 2000.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this game, it's not perfect but close enough 8.5/10.

Fallout 3 is still one of the best modern age (Bethesda) Fallout games in my opinion, played it originally when it first came out with GFWL, these days the game needs some work to be playable on modern PCs, but once it does, with some mods to give it a bit of a more modern look and gameplay features, it still is a great game.

However, I am disappointed that the GFWL achievements were not ported to STEAM, this is just annoying, I want my achievements back!!!

I'm not going to write a long technical review for Road 96, suffice to say I really enjoyed playing the game, it was a pretty unique experience, not many games dare touch such a delicate and pretty political subject as
Road 96 story contains and it is done well, from a unique point of view with a pretty unique Gameplay.

I loved the visuals and the voice acting and as I said, really enjoyed it, even better is that you can play the game again and again and experience it differently because every time you start each episode begins differently and your choices makes each time a different journey, love that about the game.

Finished it once, currently playing a 2nd time, both to see how different it will be and complete some achievements I missed.

Overall, without getting into technicalities, I'll say I didn't run into any technical issues and I highly recommend Road 96 if you care for games that are story driven and are also pretty unique.

It's a good thing I didn't have to pay to get this game, it just refuses to work on my system, it keeps crashing constantly during game startup, tried everything, and I do mean absolutely everything, nothing helps.

It runs fine on my brother's gaming laptop though, both running Windows 11, so that isn't the issue, my best guess, the game's got some problem running on newer hardware, I give up, unless by some miracle someone manage to give me something new to try, this thing is scrapped as far as I'm concerned.

Do yourself a favor, don't try it if you're running an AMD based system with Ryzen 3000 series and B550 Mobo or newer hardware, you're probably not going to get it working.

Syberia: The World Before

A Truly Wonderful Game

Syberia: The World Before by Microid is a wonderful, magical, captivating and emotional adventure, all packed into a beautiful package with great visuals.

I'm a long time fan of the Syberia series of games, all the way back to the first game, both Syberia & Syberia 2 were true classics in the point & click adventure genre, so when Syberia 3 first came out and was mostly keyboard/controller controlled and at first had an ending without any, well, ending, it was not surprised that there were quite a few complaints, Microid eventually addressed all of these, although I'll admit, I didn't get around to try Syberia 3 after these changes and the release of the DLC which I understand changes the ending.

So when The World Before was announced I was cautious at first, like many other fans I expect, then I played the free prologue and I was immediately hooked, it was obvious they were taking a step back and trying to go back to the classics, to the origins, so no surprise I pre-ordered the game as soon as I could afford it.

The World Before, which I'll refer to as TWB from now on in this review for short, did not disappoint, from the very first moment you start the game you can see how visually handsome it is, the menus looks really good, settings menus are well categorized and easy to figure out and set the way you want and don't get me started on the actual graphic, if you have the hardware to run it on high or ultra settings you will not be disappointed.

Gameplay wise, TWB goes back to basic, simple point & click interface, very intuitive and beautifully designed interface makes it fluid and the controls are easy to master, certainly a result that any point & click adventure should aspire too.

The camera however during gameplay does suffer from the occasional quirks when the angle makes it a bit hard to navigate, in most cases though, just go back to a previous point before the camera angle changed using the point & click interface and the camera revert back and fixes itself.

As for the story, TWB is the first, full syberia game developed after the death of original writer Benoit Sokal, it is not a secret that the game was made, at least partially in his memory, as stated just before the end credits begin to role, the story itself is very well written, it is interesting, it spans over many different years from 1937 to 2005, going back & forth between events of these years, bringing enough mystery, plot twists and interesting tidbits to keep you on your toes and invested in the story the entire time.

The story was just emotional enough to make some tears stuck in my throat at some points.

Now, let get technical, that is, how the game perform on the technical side, for my hardware at least, which is a pretty high end gaming PC, it performed well on high settings but was a bit choppy at ultra, no major bugs encountered during my playthrough, some weird angles in some areas in some cutscenes maybe, nothing that will hinder your enjoyment, overall TWB runs pretty smoothly.

On the down side, the game only features autosaves, there is no option to save manually, the saving grace is that it saves frequently so it is rare to loose progress and having to repeat sections.

What more? Well, The game also features more than one playable character and the ability to switch between characters at certain sections of the game.

Voice acting, is in par and probably better than the original two games, not the the 3rd game was bad, not at all.

TWB certainly gives the feeling of playing the classic Syberia games while still delivering a modern, high quality visual & gameplay experience.

Overall, Syberia: The World Before is a truly wonderful and very enjoyable experience for point & click adventure players, it builds on the story of the previous games beautifully while taking the story back to it's classic Syberia 1 & 2 style, it is visually impressive and in my opinion, could be considered a candidate for a true classic like it's original ancestors.

LiS: True Colors Review

I really waited to this game, happy to say it does not dissapoint, at least for me.

Let me start of by saying I finished the game + the Steph's Wavelength DLC once so far, I really liked and I am absolutely going in for another run to try different choices and see things I missed (and also to hunt for missing achievements).

Now, as for the game it self, it is absolutely beautiful to look at, the graphics is great and the charactes and enviroment are very well designed.

Gameplay is pretty easy to get used to as well, controls are not too complex, having said that, the game doesn't have much of a tutorial if at all so you should certainly enter the extras menu and read the how to play text tutorials before starting (I didn't, which is why I missed a lot of content in the first chapter).

The game's story is interesting and as I've come to expect from Life is Strange franchise games, very wll written, the characters are believable and relatable and some of the branches in the story, those point where you have to make a pivotal choice are just... well, some of those choices are really hard to make, some are just heartbreaking, others faces you off with very difficult ethical or emotional choices.

The game spreads over 5 chapters and then the Wavelenght DLC as sort of chapters 6, although it is actually a prologue to the rest of the game and some sort of a connecting branch if you will between the original first season of LiS and True Colors.

Each of the game's 5 chapters for itself is pretty short, some more than others but overall, including the DLC I've manged to spend around 16 hours just for the first playthrough, which is pretty impressive game length.

To Sum it up, if I need to rate the game, this is an excellent game, very good addition to the LiS franchise and a very good story rich adventure game.

PROS:

  • Great Visuals
  • Very Good Voice Acting
  • Great Story
  • Good Gameplay
  • Easy Controls
  • Fun to play

CONS:

  • Some bugs still remain in the Wavelenght DLC
  • No real tutorial other than texts in submenus

RATINGS:

VISUALS: 8/10
STORY: 9/10
VOICE ACTING: 9/10
PLAY TIME: 7/10
REPLAYABILITY: 8/10
GAMEPLAY & CONTROLS: 9/10

OVERALL: 8.5/10

Highly Recommended
