I'm trying to play through this game a second time to go for the 100% completion, but I am quickly reminded of why I couldn't push myself through more than the one playthrough however many years ago. The narrative is OFFENSIVELY bad. And I don't mean that in the political "I am offended" kind of way, but in the "quirky lulz penguin of doom" kind of way. They -could- have just kept the narrative very sparse, as it being a typing/light-gun game makes it hard to tell a decent narrative anyway, but instead they tried a campy/shlocky type story that devolves into just non-stop gibberish YAPPING punctuated by excess expletives.

Let that be the only takeaway from this review; That the story and (narrative) writing is absolute ass cheeks horrible. Everything else about the game is completely serviceable, at least for the time of its release.

Hypnotically bland. As I played, my eyes crossed. My vision blurred. I slowly disassociated. I wasn't paying attention, but I also wasn't lost in thought. My sense of self dissolved. I was in a crude state of nirvana. No thought. No perception. But yet no transcendence. Just a faintly beating heart, oxygenating a slowly atrophying brain. Not by much. Just a flicker. Enough to keep it alive in its comatose state. I awoke later from my imposed lobotomy, dampened by my own drool.

This game does not deserve your time.

I came into this expecting a rooty tooty point and shooty on the same par as DOOM2 but what I got was far from it. The controls aren't tight. The hitboxes on projectiles are fat. The monsters are hard to distinguish and coupled with the overt darkness of the game, quickly fade into becoming just a blob at the end of a hallway. Graphically speaking, the game is extremely amateur.

I'd say this game has more in common with Horde-mode shooters like Killing Floor where you just fall asleep with your finger on the M1 button rather than linear shooters like DOOM. Definitely don't bother if you're interested in Single-player. Just like Killing Floor, it's a multiplayer-or-bust game.

If you're buying this because of the creator's legacy (Unloved.wad), you will be disappointed.
