I played this at school literally 20 years ago during lunch breaks and free periods.

This mod brings to life a classic from 20 years ago and with it a ton of childhood memories and nostalgia.

Thank you for this amazing mod!

If you loved Quake 3 Defrag (or any other speedrunning game), you will probably love this. I recommend this at full price.

10 units or 10,000 units, it's the same: they just keep stabbing/hitting the unit in front of them, meaning 99% of the units will never even reach the front line with the enemy.

If it weren't this blatantly bad, I'd have given it a thumbs up for the good marketing play... Except this completely turned me off the 2nd game, and I might actually have bought the second game if the first wasn't so bad. So, this actually ended up being a bad marketing play. Sorry.

Early Access Review
This game has been in early access for 5 years, and while the minigolf is beautiful, the netcode is so bad you can't even enjoy a simple game of minigolf online.

I asked in the game forum if there is something that can be done with the horrible desync, and the developer responded asking "wut gaYm" so I replied saying it happens on all levels and that many people are suffering from the same game-breaking issues. Developer stopped responding and another user responded that it's just how it's always been.

When you have to aim through objects because your game is so desynced, you should probably not sell it.

5 years early access my ass....

Update: So I've played this game more, mostly on solo as playing against others is too buggy to be any fun.

I want to say that it's quite sad that the developer is such a lowly liar... Commenting here as if the horrible netcode is something new, when it's been this way for ages.

This game is still in "early access" after so many years, and is such a broken game...

Sad.

Wow. If you're a child of the 90's / 00's, you will find a game rich with childhood nostalgia that warms you up from the inside this Christmas.

From Dragonball references, to game references such as Final Fantasy, Mario, Metal Gear Solid, GTA, Counter Strike, Half Life, Star Craft, Worms, and many many more.

From the videos on the store page, I probably would never have bought this game... It just didn't seem like something I could ever enjoy.

But thankfully the massively positive reviews and the price convinced me to give it a try and I am so glad I did.

This game is different, but really awesome. As I said, if you're a child of the 90's / 00's, very unlikely you'll regret it. And even if you're older or younger than that, you'll probably understand the majority of the references in this game.

Sad as it is to do this, but I don't recommend this pack at full price. Some of the boards are really unimaginative, and rather than challenging they are simply annoying. Too many levels with "indestructible" bricks, where you have to spend an hour bouncing the ball at specific angles to hit one brick on top, wait for it to bounce all the way down, and then repeat for what seems like an hour. Some of those levels have a fire ball perk, but only at the very last blocks (which you cannot possibly get earlier because it is right above the indestructible blocks and you have to destroy everything else to get to it)...

This is my game of the year 2020 by far, and I'll tell you why.

Black Mesa is a game that any fan of Half-Life will have a half-chub for. But it's also a game that was in "early access" for I believe a decade and a half? Something like that. Well, it wasn't even certain the game would ever be complete. But somehow in the last few years, CC decided to spring into action and worked their asses off to deliver no less than a MASTERPIECE.

They released it just in time for Half-Life Alyx, so I decided to play the entire series from start to finish, and see how Black Mesa compares.

I played HL1 probably for the 10th time. It was epic as always.

I then played the HL1 expansions. They were good too.

I then played Black Mesa, worried I might be a little tired of playing the story again so soon, but BOY WAS I PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!!

Not only did they bring the original story to life in a way that only Valve themselves could (and I think even better than Valve), but they brought the whole world to life in a way fitting to 2020.

In fact, I enjoyed Black Mesa so much, that when I moved on to playing HL2 and the HL2 episodes, I WAS DOWNRIGHT BORED OUT OF MY MIND!

I played HL2 many times (less than HL1 however) and always enjoyed it very much. HL2 was a huge jump from anything else in 2004, but it just seemed so dead and empty after playing Black Mesa.

If possible, I'd love Crowbar Collective to be in charge of HL2 Episode 3, or even HL3.

With the resources of Valve I can only imagine what masterpiece they may bring to this world.

I played quite a few AAA games following this, but none even came close to the heels of Black Mesa.

And now that they've released the Definitive Edition, it's the perfect time to jump in and have eyegasms and eargasms again.

There are too many pros to list, but I think I've described the awesomeness enough till here so I'll skip the list.

Cons: it made HL2 look like ♥♥♥♥.

Thank you to Crowbar Collective for giving gamers the chance to relive their childhood favorite in such glory!!!!

This is my Game of the Year 2020, and even though there have been a few other absolute gems (such as Supraland, DOOM, and more), this one is the best by faaaaaaaaar.

It's only $10 now, so it's really a no-brainer. I'd pay $70 for this easy, and probably more if I knew what I'd be getting into.
