I have played rust in 200 hours now and i find this multiplayer game fun and challenging and then it is a multiplayer game, there will be other players trying to survive in the same way what you are. Unfortunately for you they can kill and raid you but you can also do the same thing on them, and you can make some frineds and help each other to survive.
