This game gives me some of the most conflicting feelings I have ever had towards any fromsoft title.

On one hand the overall level design and art direction is some of the best out of fromsofts library
The sense of freedom this game gives you is wonderful, the fact you can go anywhere from the start of the game and find something is absolutely mind blowing.

Of course there are the patentet Fromsoft PC port jank. Crashing, graphical glitches, frame drops, stuttering and the likes.
Thankfully I am in the goldilocks zone where I've only been getting frame drops and stuttering during some scenarios, and rarely at that

and then there's the glaring issue with the game.


The boss design of this game is in such a rough spot it's insane that this made it past any type of focus group testing. The bosses are designed with fast paced patterns in mind, which is fine in enough itself and is what I prefer in my soulsborne games.

The bosses feel like they were designed for ashen summons and their abillity to split the bosses attention to give you a brief respite. But the AI for the summons is so unpredictable that it's a complete gamble wether or not they'll die within the first 10 seconds of a fight and contribute nothing and waste your resources, or they'll be smart and deal a decent amount of chip damage.

Which is a massive shame considering how refined and polished the combat itself feels. It's responsive, meaty and heavy and jumping attacks are super useful for breaking stance and allowing for a riposte sekiro style.


This game is great, perhaps one of fromsofts best, if not their absolute best.
But buyers beware, this game is a mixed bag of gold and garbage. if you can put up with the sometimes awful boss design you'll find one of the most addicting and time consuming games in recent years. But if you can't deal with that I don't blame you.
