TL;DR: (single player) much better than Doom Eternal and Ancient Gods 1 (except the last boss fight and that dual marauder fight at the end, it's pure grind). If you have discount for both AP1 and AP2 over -60% it's really worth it.
(multi-player) no idea.

Pros:
- I've enjoyed this much more than Doom Eternal and Ancient Gods 1
- hammer instead of the crucible - in general really nice idea - helps in longer fights to get armor/ammo + stun (especially against marauders)
- overall feeling closer to Doom 1/Doom 2 series where you enter the room with many same-type enemies
- new enemies (but not that totally breaking the game flow (and thus WTF+irritation effect as Marauder in Doom Eternal)
- better focus on using other weapons - I got the feeling Doom Eternal was just severely abusing SSG+Ballista (and totally making anything else obsolete), with Ancient Gods 2 you get extra effects on enemies when using plasma to stun enemies, or certain enemies force you yo use special weapons and switch mods
- much more open spaces for certain maps - much easier to dodge and think about other ways of dealing with enemies, less claustrophobic
- the final battle maps feels really epic, really nice idea of two super-power-worlds clashing in the ultimate fight

Cons:
- certain locations are still painful, like at the end of the game when you meet two marauders + speed-buff zombies - in general just don't waste your life trying to beat it on higher difficulty levels :(
- final boss fight is a quick-event fight, which feels more like a fighting super-marauder
- some jump+grab locations annoying as usual ;)
- I get the feeling Todd Howard had to add dragons at least for the non-interactive section just to feel satisfied that there are elements of Elder Scrolls in it :D

Other:
- I did not even try to bother with trying multpiplayer, I'm just too old + no time, so no idea how it works in there.

If you played other Doom series and the Doom 2016 then just buy it, you gonna like it.
Playing campaign on nightmare, so far, so good - but you need to be faster and think/pln/predict more than in previous version (or I'm getting old). So it's super fast paced rip and tear, very intense.

Like in previous Doom maps are a linked sets of mini-arenas with enemies. The plus is that they added more movement options like jumping and grapping horizontal poles or grabbing walls, so you're not always only running.
The lore is really nicely expanded, I like it.

From other things I get the feeling there are some reminiscences of Quake 1 (location swith stained glasses, knight statues...) or even Q2 world (the invasion of Strogg, so if you played Q2/Q4 you will notice it) - overall I'd say there are also parts of other games in there (Im swear I saw one character from Warframe on one wall ;) )

When everyone is tired of all the shooters like CS, DOD, Quake and so on it's time for something completely differnet.

And this is it.

Play with friends and laugh out loud.

One of the best games created recently. Graphical and sound masterpiece that perfectly fulfills this puzzle-platfom game. I would say it's like interactive movie of Tim Burton

Bored of fast zombiesin L4D? Tired of walling furniture in the doors within Zombie Panic Source?

Get this and learn how to cooperate on vast amount of maps. Maybe it's not so pretty now but after 3 hours you will want to explore more of the game features.

I've returned to this game after 5 years of inactivity - gameplay and user cooperation and overall player level is higher than in any other common games lik COD.
